YES rain!!! bluesky AB 1" biggest 1 shot rain fall in 7 years! Glad to hear Scott you got a shot too!

Just PLEASE keep it out west.

here are some pics of what some of the areas in MB look like

Pic 1) East of Ashern MB, lake MB, which has moved 4 miles inland from shore line . It is expected to rise atleast another 2 feet by aug 1

Pic 2) hay field/pasture

pic 3) right hand side of fence line is/was an alfalfa seed field

pic 4) west side of Fairford bridge, the only way (above ground) water goes from LAke MB to Lake WPG.

pic 5) looking at bridge of same river east side, not much room considering the lake will rise another 2'

Pic 6,7,8) this was the view all the way up hiway #6 for over 200 kms, water all both side of road, fields flooded, not seeded, or seeded with heavy water damage (pic 7)

travelling lots looking at our contracted crops, grass fields look awesome and so do some of the legumes. Will keep you updated with what i see. Producers here in MB have pre sold very little, some nothing, and some who did are now buying back contracts. It should be an interesting year.

Our flood fight here is only going to get worse and all rivers, streams, lakes, are full and more to come. It is gonna be a mess and worst is yet to come, we are expecting this mess rite thru the summer/fall and then freeze up. Then the destruction from the ice during thaw will to the finishing touches on any cottages or homes near the lakes
I went around yesterday and looked at the water laying in my fields after this last 2 inches of rain feeling bad and then saw your pictures and realized how lucky I am compared to you folks. I really feel for you guys. Those pictures are depressing. :(

Yup, I believe it is 100 bu. canola tank. Another point of interest, they don't have a price for the tank.

I researched all drills and there are many. I like bourgault but I must admit their pricing is scaring me away; they are the highest price drill out of them all. Watch JD, they are bringing some new drills out; rumor has it they will be putting the conservapac seeding structure on a JD frame. Jd frame is built better and they can extend the width. Only problem that I can see is field roughness.

The worst contour drill on the market has to be morris. Sorry morris fans but there is just no weight to this drill. They are hanging suit case weights of the back to increase the weight.

Not to bad of an idea. Would be able to do a lot of acres on a fill with all that fertilizer.

2009 spra-coupe 7660, 700 gallon tank, 90' booms, 230 hours. Anyone know what it would be worth? Very clean unit.

Sent from my kickass HTC Desire because Apple sucks!

Just had our first hail storm of the season. Pea size to marble with lots of drifts on the road and in the ditches. Tore up my mustard pretty good. Oh well I'm sure the adjusters will tell me that it will come back and catch up to the good stuff. Nothing like combining Mustard in November.

Sorry to hear that snopro. Thats the way it usually goes, you pay your insuance premium EVERY year and they NEVER want to pay unless its a TOTAL loss. Even then its no gaurntee they will pay:mad:. I know your frustration. hopefully it doesnt get worse.

90% of the time if we are gonna get hit hard with severe weather or hail and have to replant its June 20-25, and guess what........... Severe storms here tonight and heavy rains tomorrow and scattered wend. I dread this week every year.

Yeah we are not getting anything like the weather you guys have been seeing down in the midwest. It seems to me the weather is getting more violent every year. I never remember hearing about tornadoes when I was a kid but now it seems like there is warnings or watches out at least once a week this time of the year. I hope all the weather avoids you guys and the crop comes off in good shape.:)

kinda ironic you say that about the weather, when I was growing up we had some severe storms but for the last 2 years now we have had record severe weather activity and a trained weather spotter was telling us about a month and a half ago this year was suppose to be worse then the last 2 years. However the last couple years there has been a small pocket around us that hasnt had any hail or wind. (knock on wood)

but 3 and 4 years ago we had 70 mph wind come through about corn tassel time and our corn only made about 165-170 bpa and harvested about 1500 acres of it one way and another 1000 acres 7 rows at a time instead of 8, just so we had a guide row.

The other time we had a bad one was in 2001 we built our 1st 60' diameter bin for corn. The night after the building crew showed up to set the top ring and get ready to start jacking the the bin it hailed golf ball size and leveled our corn and it was august. The next day the crew showed up and seriously asked us if we still wanted to build the bin. we thought about it and went ahead with the build and the first year we had it we couldnt even fill it. It held 98000 bushels, and we had one field only make 97bpa:(

In this career you see it all, even the impossible. Definitely can be a humbling lifestyle.

Humbling is an understatement. We had a 22 year run on the home quarter with no damaging hail. The last 4 years we have made a claim. Two years ago got all the buildings, new house and some farm equipment. Don't ever wanna see that kinda storm come through again. It hit at 3AM in the morning. First golfball hit the house sat me straight up in bed. What a night!:eek:
