Prices are the way they are because We continue to purchase higher and higher priced equipment as fast as credit will allow. We receive low commodity prices because we continue to sell into depressed markets,We are business men who are willing to operate at a loss.A large majority of the world farmers are pesents, we really are mearly peasants with a choice.

It's amazing people do it but then again there is a new fool born somewhere EVERYDAY! Some spend to their limit and when commodity prices don't show a profit and the bill is due there is only one option isn't there? Well maybe 2, you could either operate at a loss then or cut your fertilizer bill or some other input but who are they kidding....... Down the road it will still cut into their profit somehow.

i dont know of any industry where there is no control over input cost and no control over selling price.

hammer us when we are putting the crop and and hammer us again when we market it.

it will only get worse, fewer options for seed/chemical/fert.
i dont know about the marketing tho, will the CWB be gone? Will it survive? if it is gone in x amount of years, how will the big profit companies payout? will we lose our "Canadian Wheat" market?

I dont know about the CWB outcome, or the desire of the producer,

I do hope that the Gov't allows producers to decide.

I also think that Monsanto and other "life science" companies have enuf of a monopoly. on seed sales and chem.

I think the Chicago Board of Trade should be a thing of the past and let the market be what is should be. I have a grandfather that works for a huge egg processor, and back in the day when they traded eggs on the board the price was ALWAYS low but since they have gotten rid of trading them on the board and went to a different way of setting the price the profit has become unreal! basically the price is what the product is actully worth!

As far as monsanto and other companies having a monopoly on inputs its totally crazy that they can get by with what they are charging, its not what the product is worth anymore its all about what somebody wants to charge!

On farm where i work we had wheat hailed out last year so this year we sprayed twice so far. Now with this rain the voluntary wheat is coming again so spray again in canola. Also can't get to some bin to haul out canola because of mud

One more good day and we'll be done spraying! Then the haying starts.. and hauling grain and bales continues.

It's amazing how fast one of those big totes disappears.

At least you don't have this problem. I have Thousands of acres to spray and everyone wants it done today or sooner then this happened. Should be replaced on Monday afternoon hopefully. Closest windshield is in Regina.

It was on the trailer and I only meet one car along the way so I think the rock came from my truck tire. I guess iI have to start covering the window when hauling it down the road. Went for five years hauling this one and the one before it with no problems it must have been luck it didn't happen sooner.
