I know my daughters boyfriend can destroy any quad made just by how he drives it.

It really don't matters the brand as long as you get out and have fun with family and friends.

You too Tex. Where are you broken in the bush again.

So the daughter's boyfriend's quad didn't make the week..
Got too warm and the belt cover warped, and then it started loosing power again.
Also a front strut went..I think he has owned it 11 months..

They compared the non power steering XP with the Can Am in that video. But since Can Am does not offer power steering, I think the XP should have just gone ahead and used their power steering model anyway since it costs less and would have got even better results but they didn't because they were being fair. And the new Visco lock is still slower than the Polaris AWD. So the end result would have been the same. Polaris would have dominated the test anyway, but by a smaller margin, but at a cheaper price:nono:

Depends what you call cheaper, being in the shop without warranty every weekend is NOT what I'd call cheap. Poor Poo poo owners..

Mine has never been in the shop for warranty ,however for what you grizzly guys spend on performance parts i could have a 10 year warranty....and i still have almost double your power when you are done....lol

I dought that....Ipaid 8000$ , it was a demo with 100 k on it and that included a 3 year warranty. I have barely over 10 k in mine...
Sorry not knocking the Canam as i have said MANY times before, if you are talking bang for the buck NO ONE touchs the 850 XP.
Where else can you buy a STOCK quad for under 10 k with power steering and 70 HP.....?? What is a canam XTP worth now 14 to 15 K apx. Add tires/rims 1200$ ,skids (must have on C/A), a pipe and tax and you are at about 17k....Yet you can`t get 8000 $ for a used Renegade...

Thanks , but no thanks for me....

In the shop, My 09 850 has been park and ride other than the 2 recalls I had right after I bought it has never seen a shop. Change the oil and ride. My uncles can am 650 has been in the shop every other weekend, just got it back both pinion seals were puking fluid.

Just so you are aware of it Can-Am DOES have power steering, i think it came out in 2009. Mine is 2010 and has it, they have a 2 stage power steering (at the push of a button you can make it easier or firmer with a bit more feedback).
I will say (after owning both) the Polaris power steering felt a little better (only because i like the feather light feel, the Can-Am still requires a bit more effort to steer). However the Polaris system looses very big marks for failing only days after the warranty expired and costing over $2000 to fix.

I did not get mine with eps, great or not, To me Its just another weight adding useless thing to have on a quad no matter what brand it is. The new xp's steer really nice without eps don't need it. my :twocents:

Mine accually failed IN the warranty period, but it was on a long weekend and by the time i got it to the dealer the warranty had expired. I still think my dealer is good, the dealer said they tried for me. And i called the warranty people and directly to Polaris head office, nobody seemed to care in the least, they wouldn't even help out a little bit like a small discount on the parts etc. The only "help" i got was from my dealer with a bit of a break on the labor charges.
HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET WARRANTY 6 MONTHS AFTER WHEN I COULDN'T 6 DAYS AFTER ??? And i was playing nice (not swearing etc.).

How is it possible that the steering can lock up. Have to give you points for being creative at the dealer...nice just doesn't cut it. If your power steering goes you should still have regular steering control unassisted by the power steering.

thats what supposed to happen, but there were some parts that broke and bound up inside that caused it to lock up. no steering at all!:realmad:

Have to agree with that, it's 1372 for the unit, no labour, but for me the trails I ride are brutal...some of your mother in laws would be scared:d I drove non power steering quads on these trails for years and it's just brutality on the arms and hands, depends where you ride but if mine breaks I'll pay to fix it, but my dealer said they have never had one that broke. But good to know:beer:
