How narrow minded was my last post, not so narrow:rolleyes:
Very narrow...and wrong. I'm betting when you found out there was no Santa, you ran around with your hands over your ears sqreaming "bla bla bla bla...I can't hear youuuuu!!". Enjoy your new quad.

Just to summarize so the 850 XP does not lose it's ground in this 800 vs 850 comparison. Polaris guy or not, he likes the renegade because it's more like a race quad over the XP. Like I said before the Polaris is a purpose built utility quad not a racer or mud quad like the XMR, so here is an important list to think about in this 800 Can Am vs Polaris 850XP

Polaris- 70HP
Can AM - 71HP

Polaris - One mode of assist
Can Am - 2 assist modes, PLUS an extra assist for running tracks (ECU unlocked mode)

Polaris - Low rad gets plugged up in mud.
Can Am - Optional rad relocate kit.

Polaris - Locking diff breaks easy, even in mild mud holes
Can Am - Viscolok doesn't lock up so less chance of breaking while still providing more torque to the wheel with most traction

Polaris - Soft suspension bottoms out easy
Can Am -optional fully adjustable shocks to make the ride Push like Polaris or sporty.

Polaris - ADC locks up and slides, unpredictable on slippery down hills.
Can Am - Provides an EBS system that doesn't go over the top.

Polaris - Cheaper, but missing out on some options (only 2 models EPS or none)
Can Am -Many options, like XT, XTP, XC, XMR, MAX, MAX-XT... You get what you pay for... such as aircompressor, bush guards, FOX SHOX, DPS... WINCH!

Polaris - Haven't seen as many as 'Hams.....
Can Am - You see them everywhere for some reason

Polaris - stronger frame and heavier
Can Am -aluminum and lighter... fixed the frame issue.

Once again, the facts say a lot. Fixed it for yah.

I actually had the oppertunity to ride both of these quads. Those are actual facts from riding both.

I suggest you research beyond Polaris paid ads and broaden your horizons.

My Polaris was black so that makes it a rotten lemon.... Whatta ya say to that?

My Kawi is green, it means go, its good that way. Next quad is most likely a Ham when this Kawi gets old.

Ham, cuz its got beef with people who don't have their facts straight.

My horizon looks just fine on an XP. And your facts are lacking inteligence Polaris does not have a locking diff, 1 hp more is trivial, the extra options on the Can Am are useless, extra assist for tracks and two eps modes...WOW like I need two eps modes. I can do a lot better than that with my money??? And my XP doesn't bottom out easy and it has the best ride so that's pretty much perfect for me.

Indeed polaris does have a locking diff, its a mechanical auto-locking one to be exact. When ever it switches to AWD the diff is locked.

2 EPS modes is nice, and Polaris bottoms out easy. I weight maybe 160lbs (I'm a little dude) and I could bottom my front XP shocks doing a wheelie.

Enjoy your XP..... I sure as hell didn't.

AWD systems do not lock, that's why you can turn on pavement because they don't lock, best system on the market when you have the power and my quad doesn't lose control with downhill assist. I tried and it's not possible with adc on, so that's wrong as well

Do you know what a diff is? AWD on the Polaris locks THE DIFF!!!!!!!

And find a steep muddy hill, then you will realize what loosing control with ADC is like. Not fun!

And I disagree with best system seeing as how it loved to break on me. My Polaris was utmost garbage.

There are some good Polaris quads on this site, some of which are sweet and modded. But you have a ton of Polaris propaganda filling your head, and some of us feel the need to burst your bubble and let you in on some truth here.

You obviously don't understand what awd drive is, I do, you need to learn. And I have found the steepest sh%ttiest hill for traction I could go down and it will not slide as long as theres traction, without traction any quad is going to slide down a hill regardless of it's breaking, so your still wrong...maybe you don't like hearing you are wrong. If you slid down a muddy hill then you need to learn how to drive the bike because this is obviously driver error because my bike will not let that happen when I am on it...something wrong with you???

Obviously you don't like being told your wrong. Theres like 5 of us telling you your wrong and you are hiding in the corner telling us that you got a boner for Polaris and it won't go down.

AWD, I know the TRANSFERCASE doeesn't lock, but the diff does. Go read the Polaris ad about "True AWD"... In order for both front wheels to turn at the same speed somethings gotta lock up... Go read it.

I know how to ride a quad, obviously I've been doing it longer than you have. Based on your knowledge of quads, I've obviously owned more quads than you too.

I've ridden just about every quad known to man. What have you ridden?

Want me to tell you what I've owned and ridden?

I know I did, not worried either, here is a recap:av-31:

Like I said before the Polaris is a purpose built utility quad not a racer or mud quad like the XMR, so here is an important list to think about in this 800 Can Am vs Polaris 850XP

Polaris-more pulling power (somewhat important, wouldn't you say)
Can AM - better race quad

Polaris - less handle bar shock with eps or without
Can Am - better race quad

Polaris - Stays cooler longer so it won't overheat
Can Am - better race quad

Polaris - better 4x4 system
Can Am - better race quad

Polaris - Better suspension with more travel, comfortablest ride available
Can Am -better race quad

Polaris - Better engine braking for downhill assists
Can Am - better race quad

Polaris - better price, so with the extra money I can do a lot of things to step all over a stock Can AM even more so.
Can Am -better race quad

Polaris - more sales- I wonder why- is this not how we elect presidents....majority rules so The Polaris 850 XP gets the presidential award, would it not?
Can Am - better race quad...why because it's lighter...because it's lighter the frame has problems and it can't pull as much firewood unless you put the firewood on the racks (for some people on this thread) for more weight but wait the Polaris racks hold more weight then the Can AM??? somewhat important for a utility quad don't you think? (the racks hold more gear)

Polaris - stronger frame
Can Am -better race quad

The Can Am "for" people on this thread remind me of some women, always harping on one thing and therefore we should buy a Can Am, ...."just look at that Polaris guy, Paul, he wants a renegade to race with so he's selling his utility quad to get one so Can Am is better"
My blinders are off and yes I did just buy my XP and for all the above reasons noted and up to this point I've seen XP's do better in the mud then the Can Am. Your posts show differently but I've seen the opposite to that as well via "you tube" and "Rimby" So I will take all the other advantages the XP has as a purpose built utility quad and be on my way
