What are the best quads for out west in your opinion looking at ride quality,dependability and power Tks.

I can't compare. As I only know what I have.
I have the outlander XMR 850.

I like it for the most part.
The tires aren't the greatest for rocks and smooth trails. They ride rough.

I also find in mud and skeg. They chew. And dig. Sometimes that's what hoops me. Not enough power coming in. And they dig down. And the little 400s go right on by.

Most machines I've riden with are the can ams. So that's gotta say something. Can't be that bad.
The little Hondas seem reliable.
The brute force goes everywhere I go no issues.
Buddy loves his scrambler.

I guess best thing is to figure out what riding you want. Mud, trail, rock, sand,
And find something you are comfortable on. And as mentioned above. A dealer close to you is always a good pick.

honda 300 is the way to go? unstoppable, best that was ever made! always will find them on the other side while the big 800-1000"s are floundering away in the bottomless pits. just from years of observation.

ah ya just have to go out to the nearest mud pit and observe! better yet go down to buy one at the local Honda shop, none available, all sold out. and on back order!

the point you make about the tires is an interesting one for me. My polaris has pretty standard tires........but I see those huge paddles on the tires of can ams everywhere.......Ive always wondered how they handle on gravel, dirt (hard trail)

Without knowing anything about what you're using the quad for or even if you want a utility quad or not I'll give my opinion - take it with a grain of salt as with anything on the internet

Ride quality: softest rides I've been on were Polaris or Yamaha. If you want something you can ride fast the renegade would be worth a look. Other than that most IRS platforms with PS will be close if the ATVs have similar weights. An example is a king quad will ride sportier than a outlander just because of the weight difference (I know the power is way different...)

Dependability will be hard to beat the big 3 Japanese (Suzuki Yamaha honda) the kawasakis haven't seemed to have had the best record in this category from what I've saw. Depending how you ride, the can ams and Polaris have the power to wear out and break things if you ride hard but I wouldn't call the newest ones unreliable. Depending on the year certain models have known issues.

Power has always seemed to be can am even with the Polaris plants having the same HP ratings. The Rotax is a solid power plant IMO
