What are the best quads for out west in your opinion looking at ride quality,dependability and power Tks.

They're CVTs with a wet clutch. But honestly unless you're running big power or big tires almost all the CVTs are good these days and there is so many parts and kits to set them up you can usually get them to work for what you need quite efficiently.
I've seen more blown diffs than belts on quads

Yamaha does not have belt issues. Best in the business. If you want good power and reliability, look at a grizzly.

Have over 10,000 Hard KM on my Grizzly from west of Caroline. Still the stock belt.....haven't even opened the cover.

If you maintain your machine, clean out all the mud and crap.
Stay away from mud giant mud hole.
They will all work fine
But find a dealer close to you. Always nice if you need a part or warranty work

I have around 2000km on a 2020 grizzly. It's a Cow Checker/Farm quad. So far so good. It does everything from being a flash light to pulling the post pounder through places you wouldn't want to drive the truck or tractor. I didn't like that you had to use your left hand brake to unlock the shifter that is also on the left side. First time with a calf on my lap trying to get it into reverse and it doesn't lock any more lol, but still functions fine.

I have always ran Grizzly's. I am on my third one now. I would stay away from the old 660's as they had overheating issues. However, 2007 and later models the fuel injected Grizzlies are very good. Super dependable. The Yamahas do not have as much torque as all the competitors twin cylinder machines, but they still have tons of power. Buy one and upgrade the tires to a decent mud tire and you will be on your way.

just a suggestion, if your buds ride twin cylinder atv's you will never be as fast, or have as much power on a single cylinder yamaha or suzuki. both the suzuki and yamaha are good atv' with good tires and winch. maintenance will be your best friend, oil changes, grease etc are key!

Unless you’re riding roads and tinned all the time this is a not an issue.
I ride with 420 Honda’s,450 Kodiak’s, 750 Brute Forces, Can-Am 650/800’s and a few of us have Grizzly 700’s. Nobody has a problem keeping up with each other in the bush and as soon as you hit the mud holes skill usually exceeds machine size.

They all have their own little issues but the only one that was never able to get diagnosed and fixed was the overheating Brute Force. He traded it in on a new Grizzly 700 for this year.

Those 1000cc canams look like a handful.

Grizzly here too I have a 14 700 5000 kms no major problems just brakes rear bushings wheel bearings and fluid changes I too am still on the original belt. My ridding buddies all have 13/14 Can-Am 1000 all have had major issues with them and yea out on the trail no problem keeping up only time they leave me behind is on a gravel road. Used to have a couple of Polaris Scramblers for my wife back in the day a 400 two stroke and a 500 four stroke both were unreliable don’t know how many times we towed them back to camp bought her a Kodiak 450 now just regular maintenance and I don’t miss wrenching on them after every time we went riding.

They are huge but the power ant torque in the new ones make them pretty nimble and alot of fun. I had a 2013 Outlander 1000 XTP and wished i never would have traded it off. Only thing i did to it was put a Dirt Digger clutch kit in it because i didnt like the stock clutching. Thing was a wheelie machine after that lol

Any of the major brands will suit you well if you don’t abuse it and maintain it. Just pick the colour you like

Hondas and Yamahas for me, i have a 86 that still had factory tires on till had set of 2022 take offs given to me..i got it from original owners daughter who never took it in mud. just to push snow. those 350s were thee best Honda made..not for speed,but for reliability,virtually 0 supension.but who cares.. wife has a 07 Yamaha Kodiak due to lack of foot shifting. put in gear and ride..my boys had and still have Honda 250 Big reds and 700 Yamaha Grizzleys..very dependable belt drive..thatblast pic is me on sons Big red and son on his new trike kit on his Yamaha YZ 450 FS. still waiting for rear fenders,,it goes to good.scarey to watch him..lol ,my first time out with my sons and grandkids in about 7 years..we only went to the big sandpit east of Whitecourt.but was fun for afternoon.

I liked my grizzly 700 cause it was a bit lighter than the polaris or cam am but still had good power. My old Honda 300 was good for light weight and low center of gravity but no power and open front diff. Polaris sportsman 800 I used to have had great power and rode really smooth. Now i ride a Honda big red trike, very reliable and cheap lol.

Based on my recent experience, I would have to suggest NOT a Honda. I never thought I'd utter a sentence like that BUT it does not seem like the Honda of today is the same as the Honda of the 1980's and 1990's.
Bought a 2022 Rubicon 520 foot shift TRX520FM for riding west of Calgary (Waiparous mainly), as I wanted a reliable and simple machine. Primarily only use it in the winter as summer on dirt bikes but after 14 months of ownership and 1500km, had the front diff break all of its mounts...and because machine was out of warranty have NOT received any help from dealer or Honda Canada.

I made a video and put link below as this seems like a rare occurrence which is why I thought someone from dealer or Honda would care...but I was wrong.
Ultimately I'll fix frame myself but for others in the market: spend your hard earned money on a Yamaha or any other brand other than Honda.

the fastest, most powerful, with the biggest tires is generally the most expensive machine to operate and maintain!

No just a really good CVT I have a 2014 with over 7000 k still running original belt with no issues

We have 4 can am in the family. The ride is unbelievably on 3 of them we run zilla tires and the other the son has 32” terminators.
