And everything is custom build, trailing arm front suspension (old technology) so huge money spent for a combo of old tech and new. Is that yours LHF ? Nice sled but more into that than what it is really worth as the engine and turbo are the only real good parts. And still a modded 2 stroke longevity has never been good on mods. Stock 2 stroke are getting better!

Actually that IS A STOCK motor other then it has a turbo, yes...not stock for that sled but whats stock on that sled anyhow LOL. Its a Genesis PSI motor with dial a dome. Very powerful, i had one, 1250cc version in a triple, made 275HP N/A.
They are not a light motor, the cranks are huge. Be willing to bet that they are as heavy as a Yamaha 4stroke.
I had a friend that had a 1010 in a twin similar to the one in the vid. They are past history now, a boosted 4stroke is all around better, can make smoother usable power and will out live one of these brutes hands down. But seeing this video did bring back some awesome memories.

Damn rights man! Well said. Everything has its place but there is nothing like a juiced up 4 stroke....nothing! Big buck? Yes Sir but it's well worth it. Tree banging is fun, have sleds for that...but you want steep and deep and very little company in your sand box it's a 4S. It's not an investment, it's something that costs thousands of dollars and brings a hell of a lot of adrenaline and happiness! Talk smack, that's cool but if you ever got a chance to ride the s*#t out of a 300+hp reliable 4S then you'd have a grin ear to ear. Long live the 4S!!!!!!!!

QUOTE=Got boost want snow;2349989]I follow 2 Stroke turbos with my turbo apex and go places they can't. But let's get this thread back on track. 4 strokes are here to stay so if you don't like them don't ride them. But those of us who do like them will look forward to all the advancement in technology that come with them. Sure has made the 2 stroke technology have to step it up on emissions end of it![/QUOTE]

Comparing a 300 HP 2 stroke to a 300 HP 4 stroke is like comparing a 300 HP 4 stroke to a stock 800.

Seen lots of 300 hp 2 strokes usually on a rope behind his buddy! They are awesome when they run. And ya I don't Chris Brandt my tapex through the trees but in the deep deep pow nothing is like that big 4 stroke turbo.

Pick a side of the argument and stand your ground...geez man, that's just stupid. Why because of weight? Cubic centimetres on the engine or brand? I'm 300 lbs suited up with gear on the tunnel and gas, like it matters if I drop 8lbs off the machine! Follow this he says and how much will it cost ya, buddy on the video says it can do 600hp but runs at 300hp. Yeah true story but sooner or later ka-boom! I don't care, either one of my Super Chutes, and or any one of the guys I ride with that run one similar or a nypex or apex turbo with whatever kit that are true 4S guys will never say they aren't exactly what you paid for. Big buck, big fun and a lot of rock and roll. Don't care what's next because my sleds are Frankenstein units. Some parts from this year, some from that year cherry pick the good stuff and whammy ! A kick ass 4S. I love em. To each their own boss, but I guarantee you I will keep diggin them tanks out of the creeks upside down and garage sale'in them down big chutes and nasty hills because I just can't get enough of running $6 / liter race gas and having that much adrenaline pumping through the old ticker!

PSI motors were **** but when you add Linderman he is the game changer.

Holy no way a Linderman...hahaha, and a "game changer"..WOW.
You need to be careful with that "game changer" saying. Personally i avoid it.
Have you checked out the last guy that used the saying "game changer"? It fawked up the whole G4 line, it was the game changer too.

LINDERMAN........hahahaha...best laugh i've had in a long time....LINDERMAN...LOL

Ok...we got him surrounded. I think he's confused enough to pull the Shanghai Shuffle.....might have to pull out the old playbooks on this one if it gets any deeper fellas.

I never said that. What I did say is my 1160 is way more fun to ride than an 800 turbo. Turbo the big bore and look out. And yes you are correct the 800 turbo is for sale.

For me at 170# I would want one in the mountains. But around home ditch banging and trail riding I bet the sidewinder would be a blast! Would love to one that up across a field!

At this point in time i don't think the engine in the SideWinder is in need of improvement in comparison to the chassi Yamaha chooses to use. Personally and from what i hear the new Yamaha powerplant is steller and will most likely set a new bar for others to reach in snowmobile reliability and power combination for the next few years.
The chassi though for me is what is holding the new SideWinder back for being a near perfect mountain snowmobile.
The running boards are one to be desired, Yamaha should visit CR-racing aftermarkets running boards. IMO the only factory that knows how to make good boards is Polaris.
I'm not sold on that silly looking seat, like WTH, no one riding mountains sit much and are unlikely to double...so what is the couch all about?
I'm also not sold on them really tall steering spindles with them stick out there a-arms, maybe on a trail sled but for mountain use? I would like to see a cast aluminum a-arm set up like Polaris but not of the same geometry but improved version for the 4stroke mountain chassi.
Lastly, if you are the most powerful production mountain snowmobile on the planet...why not give it a proper track?
An optional 174x16x3 would be the cherry on top to get all that awesomeness to the snow.

You reading this Randy?

I might have my year confused but i believe it was in spring 2003 or maybe 04.
I went to Haines Alaska for a major snowmobile drag, i was running a 1250 with NOS. I was there with CR-racing and they were running a number of their custom built super sleds including a triple 1600. Cat's.
CR pretty much dominated the course the whole weekend..................for 2strokes, BUT we got our arses chewed on and spat out then handed over to us against team Yamaha with their new iron on the snow, guess what......4stroke turbo RX1.

A month later we all went to the BIG DAWG shoot out in Pemberton (not to be confused with Big Iron shootout, Revy)
To have our faith handed to us again by team Yamaha with their turbo 4strokes.

2strokes in a twin or triple, turbo or big bore, i can assure you..no match for a 4stroke on boost, that card was played almost 15yrs ago. Thus was born a new beginning for CR-racing and their legendary 4stroke builds.

Lund you crack me up. There's nothing wrong with the sidewinder chassis. Would you prefer a chassis like the new doo that looks like Ronda Rousey after 45 seconds. When we did our ride Ezsmoke SMOKED a tree while sidehilling. No damage. I agree the seat is horrible. The running boards are terrible but can be replaced. Leave the chassis alone for now it's finally working awesome.
