I was talking to the wifey a couple days ago about this thread and how more people than normal seem to be unintentionally spending the night on the hill. I mentioned building a quinzee hollow out a bank to stay out of the elements and hunker down if need be. Both my young boys (3&7) overheard and asked what a quinzee was.
After about 750 requests from them, all in the span Of a couple hours between supper and bedtime, I agreed to pile up some snow in the back yard yesterday after school while it was snowing decent and the wind was blowing hard.
Today it was beauty, and the snow pile firmed up, so I built a fire, and taught the boys what's up. We stuffed zipties (instead of twigs this time) in the snow pile to indicate wall thickness and started hollowing it out.
My older boy Cohen barely has his feet left showing as he's about 4ft in. Both boys cheeks and noses were rosy but neither wanted anything to do with going back in the house. Alberta Boys.

Nice. I always liked making those things.
As for the pictures, if you notice your post, the two sideways pictures are "Attached Images". If you go to Edit Post and Go Advanced and further down the page, you will find Manage Attachments. Click on that and a small window comes up where you can delete them. The first picture should stay there. Hope it works for you.
