A little extra info for guys flashing there sleds or running power adders in general the stock bov/spring/plastic does get weak after a certain amount of km mine did it around 600-800km on the flash running higher boost currently running Evos adjustable bov and it works well. Seems like stock would leak but hold 13-14psi but not the 15-16psi required by flash.

This is good to know, is the housing plastic like OEM or billet?

I'm 100% open for a Sidewinder group ride on the 24th. Hoping for Revy or Sicamous?

Billet aluminum and has up to 4 turns to weaken spring if you experience compressor surge I'm at 1 and it was good. It dumps to atmosphere comes with a plug for plumb back on intake.

Did a pile of testing this weekend. Stock primary spring, black/orange secondary spring, 62 g dalton base weights, stock helix, cold air intake. Added 1.9 more grams and on steeper and very deep quit loose snow max track speed was 54-55 mph, 16.1 lbs boost, 9250rpm. On the lake of 3ft of deep snow I could slowly creep up to 60 mph but it took a really long time, also the boost would creep up to 17.4lbs, I was wondering if this was due to heat soaking and the turbo loosing efficiency? Then added weight to bring it up to 4.4g more. Stats were about the same except the rpms dropped to 9000 rpm. Over all it felt like it was harder for the motor to load up. At the end it was the same speed and boost numbers but in and out of the throttle the 64g set up was definitely quicker. End of the day I noticed my primary spring broke but thinking that should mostly affect my engagement also blew my first belt that trip but last 2 trips I abused the heck out of it. Lots of deep snow and no rest with max pulls. We were just having too much fun to stop. On the way out on the last day the belt just started coming apart and luckily didnt explode into a millions pieces 1300+ km on it. I have a data logger and took some screen shots if anyone is interested in the data.

Then I got to wondering what is the top speed gear ratio of a mtx say for max speed anyway? I am guessing its prob not much of 70mph? On the lake that was crazy deep I was holding it wot forever and could barely break 60mph on a fresh track. I never jumped into another track to check just how fast I could get it going.

Maybe different snow loads will also effect the numbers. I almost forgot to check track speed until the end as I was mostly concerned about getting the rpm and boost were I wanted it. When I saw 55 mph I was disappointed but compared to others so far that seems to be the norm. The stock 800 2017 polaris 162 axys I was with was holding 8200 rpms and max track speed for him was 38-40 mph just an fyi to compare speeds on the hill.

Canuck5 and I were chatting a rider with the bigger mcx kit that upgraded from the evo 4 and his report was mid 50s for the evo 4 and now pulling 55-60mph at 24 lbs boost at elevation.

Food for thought.

On my EVO stage 4 going head back to the truck I was able to hit ~130 km/hr on the trail, had to slow down for a corner so not sure if thats where the MTX maxes out or not.

Lund will you be attending the yamafest apr7?

A small possibility i could be convinced to go, yamafest is really not my thing, i love the solitude of sledding. Too much crap and too much of a shet show for me to enjoy. I stopped going to these event's in 2005 after an incident i had at the Big Iron but i did attend yamafest 2010 or 11 don't really remember. Why you ask?

Ok Mike. You are invited and I will have your ticket at the door. You have bought a Yamaha and contribute often to our customers interests. We do this event for all of our customers as an appreciation event and evening. Come see us and meet with the Factory guys.......they always like seeing how our customers make their sleds their own.
