Seems to be a common trend this season at all riding areas. Dont know if its because of the large amount of new riders this season or what but the back country code of ethics seems to be out the window.

Backcountry code of ethics hasn't existed in a very long time. I stopped dropping fuel a long time ago after multiple gas cans being stolen from myself and riding buddies. I just dump some in every stop once in the alpine until its gone, usually only takes two stops to get rid of it and then ride2/3 of the day with an empty can on the back. One day we were in chappel, dropped our fuel cans, we were the only ones in all day except for some sled skiers riding the drainage that goes down the switchbacks. They were there before us and we were early like 9am. Anyway go to come back out and cans were gone and so were they. So we are mad but whatever, ride out, end up towing dad out the last 8km cause hes empty and we pass those sled skiers on the trail, one sled was broken, he crashed on the ride out i assume, busted front end and they were struggling to get that sled out. They must of heard us coming and got rid of the evidence cause they never had our cans on them. Got down to the truck and yep nobody else was up there but us still....... so long story short, let the air out of their tires after loading up quick and left them lol. F* ck me f*ck you mentality right there lol

That sucks dude.I know the feeling.A few years back i made the mistake of leaving my tailgate down and some clown stole my superclamps and my cover for my skidoo.Needless to say i lock everything up now.sad world we live in these days.no respect would be an understatement.Karma will get who ever did that to you.

One trip years ago some thieves sold the gas right out of my trucks fuel tank.... filled up in Valemount before going out to Allen Cr... last ones down the mountain at night snowing all day got back to truck started it and it runs for 1 min and dies gauge reads empty tracks all around the truck and fuel cap off tank and open used a couple of 11 liter sled caddy’s to get back to Valemount.... lock it or loose it shizzz been happening for years.... try getting your gas cans used on the hill when u use mixed race gas for a turboed sled....suck... probably only going to get worse too

Significant storm snow and strong to extreme winds have hit the areas recently with upwards of 60-80cms of snow and more snow looks to be on the way. Combine these factors and add in warmer temperatures and you have an elevated avalanche hazard.
There have been reports of several large avalanches in the area recently. Now is the time to enjoy the snow in low angle terrain well away from any overhead hazard. Keep your head in the game and do not let your guard down. Restraint and diligence are the keys to managing this hazard level.
Due to a sprinkling of lower valley rain, the new section of trail at Clemina has been reported to be slick in the 100m steeper section as you go through the trees mid way up. Keep this in mind if heading into the area.
Ride safe at check www.avalanche.ca before your ride!

Heading to Valemount tonight, riding with group Saturday, but looking for group to join on Sunday.

You are welcome to ride with us, group of two, we are riding until monday and heading back to sask tuesday.
We rolled into the clemina lot at noon today, gal at the ticket booth said 100+ sleds up the hill, be we only saw 35...
Warmed up in morning glory, did the ridge tour around into goat ridge bowl, then over to Lakeview meadows, back to the cabin, then over into the baurers meadows and some cut blocks, still managed to put 55 miles in... vis was mediocre today but the ceiling was high so we made the best of it.

We were up Westridge both Sat and Sun . With the little bit of fresh that fell over Sat night / Sun morning , it made for some good headlight deep stuff in the trees ! Snow noticeabley started to feel heavier as soon as the sun came out yesterday afternoon
