Anybody know of a decent used picker truck for sale. Looking for a Dodge 4500/5500 or Ford F450/F550 with preferably a HIAB picker. Would consider a 1-ton but bigger would be better.

Anyone knows of one, let me know please.

Thanks

Thanks Boost,

Hey could you send me a link to that one? If you have it handy, if not I will keep looking! That is close to ideal...would like a crew cab, but not a deal breaker.

I have a sale pending on one of my picker trucks and took the other too the auction today, both are probally bigger than what you are looking for. Both are International tandems, one with a Atlas 140-5 and the other with a Hiab 215.5...both with remotes.

I just purchased a new one,a 2011 Peterbilt tridem with a Hiab 422-8.When I get back from my sledding trip I will give a buddy a call on what he has,I saw a few small cranes there last week.

Thanks Dave, yes both too big for what I do. The ideal would be a Dodge 5500 with a Hiab 077 picker. The Dodges are real hard to find used though. We bought a Ford F550 and I would prefer not to buy another Ford if possible.

And where the heck are you sledding???

I would say stay away from the fords we have switched out the entire fleet over the last couple of years. Dodges with a couple of Chevs now. They all have problems but if I were to buy I would go for the Dodge myself and the hiab picker.

I run all Dodges but this Ford was too good of a deal to pass up...Even if it said Ford on the grill LOL

Seriously good deal...and knock on wood, no issues yet, just not a fan.

u couldn't of said that any better longhorn its so true just someone else JUNK

Kinda funny, one of my competitors down here recently picked up a sweet looking picker truck, high miles, but looked real decent. 2006 Ford F550, no dents, all tooled up and all...

$7000 at the auction...really rubbed it in my face about how much we were spending on trucks compared to him...Truck lasted about a week, was pulled over on the side of the road broke down, I slowed, waved, and smiled, and kept on going...Talked to him later (after he gave me crap for not helping :) ) head gasket gone...So much for the auction buy...I cant afford the downtime.

My theory on auctions is, " They're selling it for a reason, if it was still good, they would still be running it".
