Niner how much you
Charge me to do an alpha track like that?
Will let you know when I get this one finished. See if I can get the time down to make it somewhat affordable. I heard one shop charged a guy $2000 to cut and clip his track which is just ridiculous.

I have an old alpha track laying around I was thinking of doing this with a custom cutout on an oscillating tool. Make it out of old hacksaw blade.

Very cool. I wish there was a twin rail version of that track readily available. It will be a huge upgrade to the 9r, give us a weight of that track when the retrofit is complete.

The alpha tracks are that good? I thought doo was the one to beat?
The Alpha track performs really well for a couple reasons. It’s 15” wide all the way to the tips where other tracks taper to the tip. It’s as wide as the doo 16” wide at the tips.
And the lug design grabs bigger chunks of snow than a track with multiple paddles.

I'm sure one of the Doolaide faithful (maxwell) will be along shortly to dispute this information.

yep, that track design has its disadvantages aswell. Its been tried by others in RnD. It performs well in fresh snow but it isn't the best all around track for all snow conditions. Niner knows the gen5 track works but as he had this lying around im sure he didnt feel like spending 2400$ on a gen5 track.

I like the Gen 5 16” track cut to 15”. The freeride / Lynx track isn’t as good. If the Alpha track fails I would get the gen 5 track.

I would guess that 98% of track failures are operator error. Low snow and going over 60 mph on groomed trails destroy any brand of track.
Poor trail conditions don’t help either. Still dirt down low. Tree riding and spinning over stumps and logs can’t be good either but it’s the tracks fault lol. You are right Curtis. Mostly operator error.
