I would think that martin's should step up to the plate for that one. It sucks been in your shoes before with doo dealer in wainright and all they wanted was more money too:rant::realmad::nono: I'm getting the motor done on my rt by eric at specialty. New crank piston and rings. Hope i don't have the same problem, and good luck.:d:d:beer::beer:

Ok so here it is so far:

Talked to Randy at RPM and agree with you all this isnt his problem but he has offered to help out with a deal on fixing it. Sounds like he really wants to help so in my mind he seems like a stand up guy.

Talked to 162Wizzy over emails and he is really trying to help out. He is sending the work order and stuff to me so I have it to fight with Gerry at Martin. Also seems to be a pretty stand up guy. I believe he thought the sled was in good working order when he sold it to me.

As for Martin.....I wont know till I get the chance to talk to them.

All of this is pointless till I get the motor checked and am sure of the cause.

You may want to watch how you handle that too....if its anyone other than Martin and if you get someone else to pull it all down you may take a chance on them telling you that they won't touch it now its all tore apart....touchy situation....hope it all turns out for ya.....been there....not fun!

Ive been thinking about that too. But if I let Martin tear it down its just as easy for them to say the cause is something else and not their fault. I'm going to do my best to get them to help out on this.

Ill update tomorrow when I find out in the morning.

Yep - just remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Sometimes approaching the situation from the "we have a problem" standpoint instead of the "you have a problem" standpoint works better than getting on the phone yelling and screaming that someone screwed you over. Usually this results in a defensive position from the accused, which isn't going to get your motor fixed any faster or cheaper.

I figure there will be lots of time for yelling and screaming as a last resort after you've tried all reasonable and more polite options.

Don't pull anything off the sled...... Talk to gerry, as he is a good guy.... One of the few at any dealership that seems to care about each individual sled!!! Just my 2 cents

Gerry was great with my sled and I didn't buy it from him either. Had no problem talking to him on the phone about my problems and got me in the door when i was in need of the sled.:d:d:beer::beer:

Holy crap man that sucks. I would be fing pissed for sure, the RT motors sure ain't cheap to fix. Hope you get treated right and get it fixed on someone elses dime, whoever it is because no way it should be yours.

Now i'm all worried that my RT is going to blow up on my first ride, I sure hope not :(

sounds like you have everyone pulling for you thats involved...including the gentlemen you bought it from.... and the gentlemen who assembled the engine....before you do anything...I would give Martin a call and see where you go from there....deal with it fairly in giving Martin the first shot and see where it goes from there...I've been in this same situation (not with this party thou)and we tore the engine apart and that pretty much cascaded the problem to , "well....sucks to be you because you took it upon yourself to pull it down and now you bring it in...in boxes?" The other party knew we didn't do anything crafty but it was an out for them.... so yeah....I bought an engine by tearing it down to decipher what was wrong or what went wrong and never gave them a chance to give it their first opinion I guess....not saying your situation is the same....but give them the opportunity to rectify the situation as obviously you have others that will help you out if nothing is gained or you fail with your first attempt. I can also see the other side as if you do walk in with an engine that grenaded and you are looking for help...often their hands are tied...they want to pull it down and see what happened themselves....walking into a shop like I once did with an engine tore down left me with nothing even thou they said , "Yeah....feel for ya...but where did all these parts come from.?" just to give you an idea....not saying anything bad about anyone involved...just give "EVERYONE involved a chance and form a decent plan....still hope it all works out OK for ya....just some advice from someone who's been there....and I'm probably not alone! Very delicate situation without a doubt....

Thanks to everyone for their advice and good wishes. Im hoping its just a top end and Martin steps up and helps out if it is something they should have caught when 162Wizzy asked them to check the machine over and paid them good money to do it.
