The Tides foundation is funded by some Saudi money. And the Americans and Saudis don't give a chit how much sewage we pump into the ocean. What they do care about,is keeping Alberta oil in Alberta. The protests and government interference have nothing to do with the environment. It's all about the all mighty dollar.

bingo!

This is about keeping the American oil flowing and ensuring Alberta oil stays in the ground

was reading on a forum last night about the pipeline and so many BC residents were expressing their frustration about the current situation and were praising the recent poll in support of the pipeline. Some anti-pipeline supporters would not agree with the poll results and said the poll was flawed because it covered people from the interior as well. Um duh we do have a voice as well!
Eventually the actual British Columbians will take back their province.

In see a shift here and I think the silent major of BCers are feed up with the b bull****.

yup, makes no sense in a company playing games, they really have no choice, as Nutley and Truedumb are just posturing as long as possible

Governments don't operate like private businesses. They would go broke operating in the private sector with all their bullchit delays, posturing and over analyzing everything.

Seems bitchng gets pointless but after just completing our 2017 year end books our accountant was kind enough to inform us of the extra cost we’ve incurred in tax combined with the additional cost to operate we are taking a net loss in 2017 from profitable 5 years prior. This bs is real, I can feel the plight of small business and the reality of people closing their doors.

Yep, with their being no slowdown in government spending they need more of our tax dollars. With less big business revenue coming in guess who gets to pick up the slack. Seems the harder the average Joe works to get ahead the more they want to take. This yr, no sports credits for kids, no text book credit for students, and a few other small benefits that help the middle class all gone. Cost of everything going up, insurance, fuel etc but wages and benefits stagnant if not decreasing. Big picture doesn't look good.

Yup and then they treat buissness owners like it is their civic duty to creat jobs and pay said employees more than you the buissness owner makes.

Blows my mind.

Same BS goes on in Australia.
But keep in mind big business in US runs the game so thier product, which is exactly the same is worth more.
Politicians luv this sheet coz it distracts us from the fact that they r doing absolutely nothing except stealing money and giving it to friends and family ...
They r completely unaccountable ...

I can't believe all the crap going on in Bc, seems like bc would rather have Chinese mob money being laundered in and out of the country then Alberta tax payers money, all this pipeline bs, all the while an official that didnt even get elected runs the province into the ground. Our neighbors are worse off then we are here in Alberta with knothead. I'm done spending any of my hard earned money in bc till the snow flies next winter even then I'll pack the slip tank and keep spending to a minimum. Sad the rest of bc has to suffer because of the dirty sess pool that is Vancouver

The court was also concerned with the potential far-reaching implications of taking away any province's power to control what comes across its borders.

That was an excerpt from a ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada regarding the transportation of alcohol across provincial borders as handed down today. I would think that that would put BC in control of what and how much comes down the pipeline. Scary for sure but then my interpretation of things of this nature isn't the same as what judges see.

This post went by everybody without a hitch. It seems that this court process that BC is on with regards to controlling what is coming into it's jurisdiction is gaining momentum. We are getting the shaft with every passing day and we can't get rid of the left leaning azzhats soon enough.

Kinda apples and oranges...the ruling stated that provinces can control what enters its jurisdiction for taxation purposes and to protect its markets but cannot do anything that would restrict trade across borders. So a province can restrict poultry for example to protect its farmers but can’t restrict something like Kinder Morgan because that would be restricting trade. Rulings like this are precedents set to protect Quebec from having to compete with the rest of the world. The supply management discussions in NAFTA are the same.

You may think it is apples and oranges but Mr. Dodge is of a different opinion......
"Canada’s courts have consistently sided with provincial concerns over the national interest, often leaving the trade and commerce powers of the federal government “torn in tatters,” said Dodge.
“The courts are going to weigh in on the side of local interests, provincial interests on the side of NIMBYism to prevent national development,” he said. “The courts have come down pretty solidly on the side of provincial interests and the national interest has suffered.”
