Trade the twin pipes for a stock 99 pipe, you will probably be happier. Leave the rotary valve alone on the X. Gear it down, slip a 151 under it and ditch the secondary for a cat roller.
I found it nearly impossible to find a stock pipe for an x when I was looking. I guess the motor angle was different in the x than in the regular summit so the pipe is different (or at least that's what I was told at the time) might as well stick with what you have and get the jetting figured out IMO
