I had one for 3 years, I really liked it. It was the only vehicle I ever had that I didn't feel the need to modify. When the lease was up I bought a Cherokee, but I would have been happy with another Liberty too.

Friend of mine has one , grocery getter.........they like it , they did buy one of those 12 volt heaters for hwy trips that were very cold and as well as morning start ups........seems to be* a good fit for them. let us know what you end up with! Cheers!

We had an 09 liberty it was okay didn't fit the car seat worth crap especially if you are taller. The best we got for Mileage was about 19. Traded it in on the ford edge and I would personally never go back

The Liberty (not sure the exact years) was rated the worst SUV in rear end collisions. The headrests literally snapped off the driver and passenger seats in one video I saw. Never know when some douche is gonna smoke ya sitting at a light or something... just a thought.

The girl I carpool to work with has one. Haven't noticed a weak heater. It gets fair mileage from what I understand. I get put in charge of driving when the weather is super winter style and it handles quite nice. Slides around a bit when in 2wd, but its nothing unusual.

The old Man has a used Liberty for sale, it is a diesel with 110 k. It has great power and will do 30mpg on the hwy. I havent drove it in the real cold weather but when I did drive it the heater was good. It seemed very stable and the 4X4 is awesome. If you are interested just pm me and I will give you his ph#. The diesels are hard to find and they are more money than the gas but I dont think it takes long to pay for itself.

my boyfriend had a liberty renegade, or one of those fancy models, for one..jeeps are terrible for cracked/chipped windshields because they are so straight.. also, the ride compared to other SUVS was terrible, felt very rough and seats were uncomfortable (this is just all IMO), gas mileage was so so..but other SUVs in its class are better. We were definitley happy to get rid of it, my two cents.

e had an 05 for 45 days ws in the shop for 36 of those 45 days pos imo. BUT our friends have one bought at the same time 4yrs and still lovin it never had an issue.
we went to an 06 grand cherokee when we got rid of the liberty. was 10 times the unit for the same price. better ride handling and comparable mileage. and you can pull your sled trailer with a cherokee.

I would recommend checking with Consumers Reports. I realize that they arent the end all to be all but I think that CR reliably paints a pretty accurate picture. Worth spending the $ for a subscription if it saves you $1000's or steers you away from a POS. Just my 0.25$ worth.

I would think you could get a much nicer, reliable, comfortable and more family-friendly vehicle for 15-20G.

The diesel I told you about is around $15000 plus G.S.T. in case you are interested and it is in excellent condition, dark blue in color, looks almost black in low light, and it has pretty much new rubber on it, perfect winshield, all around looks like it was well taken care of. My dads little hobby car lot is called Versa Sales and his cell # is 780-878-1544. He would bring the vehicle up to you if you liked as he goes to Edmonton quite a bit. He has been doing this for several years and has a great reputation because he checks all of his vehicles out and wont sell it if it is a piece of crap. There you go, my sales pitch for the day! Have a good one.
