I'm told now that within 1 1/2 to 2 weeks I'm expected to be in Jasper with consultants with boots on the ground. This is for inspections to determine damages and exposure hazards. Ordered a mobile starlink for the fifth wheel tonight. BVJ next week then home. Hired ladies to clean the fifth when im back from BVJ then I need to wait for government authorizations and passes to enter, then the adventure # 3 begins. Seems to get more organized each occurrence.

bring logging back to what it used to be never had this much devastation when logging was allowed 30 years ago.. Sometimes it makes me wonder if since we export alot of our wood if their is something in the background happening? Would be sad to think that this could be purposely done.

I been hard at it all day making arrangements and putting budgets together, hiring extra hands. We have now over 82 different sites from one client, and these are all commercial. They have some large lots for there business so I can most likely park the RV somewhere. This should be interesting.

Insurers, provincial and federal government, restoration contractors, we don't typically work for private homeowners.

No, the sky is not falling, and there are many twists and conspiracy theories out there. 1/4 of Jasper did burn and there is smoke and water damage to about another 1/2 of the town. There is still Active fires and moving of debris to put out hot spots. Also there are several chemicals that are hazardous to people so they want to let the airborne stuff settle down for about a week. They typically will fence of the major areas and let people view eventually however there are many materials that need to be determined. Hence that's why we are going in a week, we and many similar companies like ours are collecting data and sampling.

This is a process that even we have evolved in what we do by experience, I first year ( Slave Lake) was a gong show, by Fort Mac we were seasoned however this was over 10x the size and a lot more to learn from.

The entry to Jasper will be very slow and very restricted. And they are not cleaning up they are putting out hot spots. They or most of them realize the hazards. Asbestos, Lead and several others here, and many toxic fumes. Maybe they should let some of the hot heads in to breath the fumes and asbestos fibres for a while.

I understand Ron, but I wonder why they can’t open up 16 and keep the entrances to the town blocked? For some reason, there are no maps available anywhere showing that there is a fire burning that would cause them to keep 16 closed!

Your correct, we are told that we cant even come to town till after the Aug Long weekend if that is completed. And they are still putting out hot spots just off the highway and firefighting actives come first.

There are also are other issues about letting an entire community re-enter the town. The fires are still burning southwest of town, until those are out there is always potential for it to turn around. The other things that are needed is the infrastructure. There is damage to the hospital roof, the hospital needs inspected, public buildings then basic safety. D Smith has a good idea, let residents go on a bus and tour the damage. Brewster's operates a big bus operation there, I'm sure that will eventually happen but probably a few weeks away.
