at least some of the town survived it looks like. that's a good thing.
there is a satellite image floating around of the "path" the fire took, it's not as terrible as originally it was being made out to be, if the image is correct.

Still sucks. Close to half the town.
I'd imagine the smoke damage will be huge towards what's left standing.
I would assume you're right. with a fire like that I would guess pretty well the whole town would have pretty serious smoke damage. and anything close to the fire would have some heat damage.

So how close are the fires to the Columbia Ice Fields? Wondering if Chatter Creek lodge would be in danger. Buddy said there is a lookout on their tenure that you can see the Icefields and the visitor centre from. He figured 5 miles as the crow flies but it would be west of the Icefields.

Well i doubt Putin would ever extend a hand to helping fight this fire like he did in the past, Trudeau and Freeland burnt that bridge.
