Needs too many aftermarket parts to make big power.

Depends on what you want it for I guess. My 03 7.3L dynoed at 590lb/ft to the ground with a couple bolt on's.
Thats all I need to pull my trailer around. Is it the fastest out there? No, but it dosent have to be.

Run EGR delete, 10W-30 in the summer. 0W-40 in winter. My '03 6.0 is a tank just stock, but ive had to do injectors, lift pump. and i have a seal in the turbo that is gone. cant get the seal, need the whole turbo.

if i were you i'd call up a ford dealer with the VIN number and get them to run it, they will be able to tell you what that truck has had for work done on it

One of my good riding buddies is a mechanic and he does about 3 6.0L motors a month. That's just motor or head swaps. Add another 3-5/month for egr, injector, or fuel system issues.

buddy has a 05 f-350 he bought it with the EGR delete and 60hp injectors in it (prob has those cause oem ones ch!t the bucket). Truck runs/pulls/plays awesome and gets a solid 22mpg empy @ 120ish I was told that the trick with the 6.0l is NO CHIP and egr delete.

are you sure its a 6L? i read the ad a few times might have missed it but it doesnt say diesel anywhere on the ad. also for that year you can go to a chevy/dodge and with a little more miles save 10K-15K. the cummins and duramax will last a very long time, im not worried buying at miles like that

im in the process of buying a replacment duramax 07 with 160 000 kms for 25K, fully loaded

Pretty big exhaust pipe for a gasser, also the harleys had a more discreet door sticker that indicates a diesel not the typical chrome badge.

99% unless they added turbos underneath the hood, made it run rough enough to sound like a diesel and put a "diesel fuel only" fuel cap on ;)

So looks like there are two very different opinions here. My opinion don't touch a 6L unless you are willing to drop a couple grand on updates. Think I will go with a 6.4L.

I don't want a dodge unless it's a megacab, and those seem I be pricey used. I don't want a duramax, because it's a duramax, and I don't want all those little fawking rattles Chevs get. Only thing I hate about fords is the unreliable motors and their cab removal requirements for almost any engine repair.

Ok a 6.4 ain't any better. Well ok its harder on fuel than any diesel.

Tranys are better as they seem to hold up
