Had a 08 6.4 for 8 months. Bone stock. 2 injector tips fell off. Three engines later it went back to dealer. Soured me on em. Not all of em r bad though. My experience.

I'm looking at possibly buying a 07 outlaw f350 lifted, with 96000k and warranty for another 50k for 27thou, but I am still nervous about that 6liter. Seems like such a good deal though

Buddy of mine maintains a fleet of these in bus chassis'. With EGR delete and upadates they are going over 500K and counting. A hot tune and a trailer will probably shorten that number quite a bit.

I sometimes want to try out a diesel but i got 312000k out of my last gas GMC. Everything that went wrong with it was things that could go wrong with a diesel. Things that are cab and chassis related and are the same on a diesel. I'm now returning my trucks and getting new every 3 years so it doesn't make sense to me to convert. The added money for the truck, the added cost in maintenance doesn't offset the savings in fuel. My 6L gas pulls my trailers up anything at the speed limit. What more do I want? Maybe when my buisness goes to the next level and i need even more write offs I'll try one :)

You're right. I don't understand why people buy diesels and turn them over every 3 years.....unless they're mileing them up of course. I run diesel because I always buy used and tend to keep my trucks for a long time.....10 years plus.

Both Ford Dealers in Golden and Vernon suggested I run 10w30 on my 6 l. Have been doing so for 4 years and no issues.
