I'd like to see an mcxpress there stuff always works very well. Does there box plug into the ecu? I know they were not flashing them I don't believe what price did you get the power up for?

That's correct. It's a separate box that plugs in to the OEM harness. The ECU remains 100% stock and the MCX box modifies the signal's and fools the program. The OEM ECU continues to operate like normal unknowingly that its being fooled and modified. Unplug the MCX and its all back to stock.
The system comes with box, small harness, t-hose for boost valve connection to MCX box, 2 silicon cooler hoses. $2200.00
It comes with their pipe but i did not get the pipe as i'm using CR's pipe. With pipe i believe its $2800.00

So why go MCX express?

Evo stage 4 is $700 for the flash and it has over a year of good results......

Evo and Pecision EFI both have great flashes/tunes and other products for these sleds.

I didn't want to reflash, especially on these extremely expensive motor should things go side ways. The beauty of it, the oem ecu has no idea of the install. Its just plug and go or unplug. The ecu will have no recall of the system install.

Try to collect on warranty with a reflash, even on something simple like fuel pump.

I think the only reason you go mcxpress is maybe un plug it if you have 3 years warrenty and have engine trouble? Even then tho if they run a diagnostic and see you we're running 16psi you might be sol

You can run them without cold air but in general any modification can void warrenty mine was void long ago but my dealer still fixed engine sump leak and updated my rollers I think it's about what a dealer is willing to push through.

I talked about it with Randy because i was looking into something different. He told me to go this route because should something go sideways and i have a 4 year warranty it will go through simply because any tapering will not show on the ecu. As for the snorkle..LOL my whole dealer has looked, seen and drooled over it, its no secret with them, they supplied the parts.
Its all about who you know and who you need to please, LOL. I've been in this game for many many years.

Exactly...Terry at Kelowna Yamaha has been begging me for years to buy a sled from him, now i did. I've known some of these guys for over 25yrs, i've competed with them and against them on the hill's. We're no strangers to each other. A great dealer won't screw you, he'll make it happen. The MCX just makes that happen easier for Terry if something happens to my motor.

Ok, this is some conclusion on the MTX 2017 model's. Some of this can apply to the 18's.
Yamaha has done a remarkable job setting up the clutches and gearing on these, honestly not much can be had in gains and no heat or belt issues.
The biggest issue is these are tuned for 8,000ft, basically done for areas like Colorado. In BC we don't ride those elevation's. The only calibration change i would recommend on all MTX is adding more tip weight onto the throw weights. If your finding your sled turning 88-8900rpm, which i suspect most of you are. Add another 1.5grams to the tip weight. 1gram equals about 100rpm. you need to drop your RPM's about 150. You need 8750rpm for that motor.
This on its own will gain you track speed simply because your motor will make better power and not go out of its power curve.
There is no need to do cam(helix) changes, spring changes and gear changes for a stock MTX, other then what i mentioned above.

I will post abit more here on clutching gearing when it comes to certain mods some have done on here.
do you have a part number for the heavier Rivets ?

The part #90261-06033 4.5g

The MTX oem throw weight, rivet weights; at the base 4.5g, in the middle 4.5g, at the tip 3.1g.
Replace the 3.1g with a 4.5g.

MTX have an aluminium 0.85g rivet in the tip. Part #90261-05028-00.

I'm seeing 15-16 psi stock, pretty much same as your evo numbers . 15psi at 9000 and 15.5-16 at 9150. so cant see them voiding warranty when still stock. I know everyone is saying BS on these boost numbers for stock but not sure what else to say. have double and triple checked it.

If your MTX has the .85g aluminum rivet it is tuned for 8,000ft up to 10,000ft, IMO 10,000ft+. I have looked at 3 MTX non had the aluminum .85g rivet, they all had the steel 3.1g. BUT i'm not saying non came without the .85g.
If your's did, it is absolutely no good for most all riding around BC. In other words it is not clutched properly.
You need to replace the .85g with the 4.5g.
The .85g is way too light and your RPMs will run stupid high for our elevation.

3.1g rivet comes on the sea level sidewinders.....so actually your saying add 3.65g of weight??

The 3.1g rivet is used on oem MTX factory tuning from 2500ft-8,000ft. It is a generic setup like most factory sled.
It is too light for any riding below 8,000ft, this is why i recommend going to the 4.5g

Little late to the party was working and heading home tomorrow to get some riding in and get a 2nd Baseline for RPM and track speeds my EVO stage 4 is pulling.

I did 5-6 longer steeper pulls with 2-3’ snow in a Weinbergers Bowl @ Renshaw and my 162” was pulling consistent 61-63mph. I can tell you the sled hauls.
