I have questions.... Why is our 9760 out performing the 9120? And yes, the auto unplug is nice, but its still a case. And highway service sucks ass for parts and service. We ordered a filter for our lawn mower one time. Two months later it finally arrived. That's bs. For me, its a no brainer. Deere is still king.

You must be rude to someone cause highway service is awesome to us. At the end of the day youll be unplugging still and I'll be finishing the field up ;)

Actually the guys we used to hire ran all green and did a great job. The burnt lots of parts up but that's cause they have chipped machines and run them to the balls. They do put a ton of material through but we run 2 case every year. Every fall they send us out a new or pretty close to new (200 hours this year) machine and we run that one and our old one all fall then trade our old one in.

Hell no! We use the one out of lethbridge so that could be the reason.

John Deere is good just expensive for parts. I really have no preference for farm equipment. We have everything except Massey.

Salesman for case came out, and put new fuel filters on it again. Started down the field, and it was doing a good job at 6.5mph with a 36' header, and a 65 bushel wheat crop. Worked good for about 1/2 mile where it started getting worse again. My dad was driving our 9760, and I was in the case with the salesman, when I looked at the salesman and said "we're about to get passed". Salesman asked which combine was passing us. I wasn't sure at that time since the 9760 and the 9870 have the same headers. He pulled over and started passing us, and sure enough, it was the 9760.
HOOOOWEEEE, you aint never seen a salesman that sad before in your life. Dad and I sure were laughing though.
When both of the big combines were working good, they were neck and neck the whole time. Unfortunately, the case kept getting problems.
The case does have a very nice clean sample thanks to its massive sieve area.
The unloading auger on the case is not my favorite. On the Deere, it comes forward so it's in plain view. On the Case, it is back a bit so you have to look back at it. Not a big deal on a empty truck, but when the truck is near full and taking on the go. It's also a very slow unloading auger. Not a major issue, but kind of annoying if its a small field that's not possible to take on the go.
I haven't had the opportunity to drive the deere yet, as we got rained out right before we were about to switch.
Stay tuned on monday for thoughts of the deere.

Left the cap off the 9870 three nights ago... On my third set of filters in two days..... Smooth move. Can't even blame anyone else, believe me I tried, but the dog wouldn't take any responsibly what so ever!!

Will likely wash out at an even 1/2 million$ with both pickups. Would of liked to see it work in some heavy wheat, nothing but very very dry canola left so wasn't really a very good test!

I've been in a afx 7120, 8010, 8120 and Deere 9500, 9650, and 9750, problem with the Deere is the electrical under the cab has been known to light the combine on fire quite a bit, we had a 9650 and a 8010 in the same field,,, the Deere went home wounded 2, second time it didn't come back. My choice is the red one

It's to bad you didn't get a chance to try out some of Deere's newer models instead of their older stuff. Not really comparing apples to apples. Just sayin'......

I was unaware of the problems with the electrical under the cab problem. And deere is all we run. Plus everyone else around us does too.
