More torque in the Deere engine. Thats gotta be a pain with the Case pulling a hill with a big hopper. Any alarm that comes on when you don't expect it can be abit unnerving.
Pulling a hill with a full hopper with the Case, is like pulling a hill with 3 feet of fresh powder on a stock nytro.

You'd be surprised, we had 3 case combine in 1 field with hills and full hopper youd never know it (besides grain spilling)
Gotta still be something wrong with this combine then. The mechanic was out to help us set it up even more, and the 9870 was still passing it.

Maybe thats just the way it is. The 9870 is Deeres biggest offering ( to this seasons end) and the 9120 is Cases. You shouldn't have to make excuses for the Deeres good showing. John Deere is the number one combine in the world for sales and the #1 choice of custom combiners are they not? At least that is what I read a couple years ago in a farm magazine.

Freightshaker overheated tonight. Was pulling a rather large hill with a rather heavy load. Was keeping an eye on the temperature, as I knew it was going to happen, and all of a sudden it shot right up. Limped it to the top of the hill and pulled to the side of the road, just as it died. Let it sit for about half hour, fired it up and pulled it off the road into our field. Might have overheated for the last time I think. Sure hope not though. Need it to take a load of Canola to the elevator ASAP.

John deer thought they would come out this fall and gave my 9795 a ass whooping not the case. They brang out a 9870 with a 36 foot header it look like a decent combine not running in the feild didnt like the price tag. Any ways we get the feild my hired man running are 2010 Massey ferguson 9795 with a 36 foot dyno flex header in 50 per bushel acre wheat crop this was at about 10:30 Am doing about 4 mph wich is really good for a class 7 combine. I go in the deer with the rep he starts going were doing about 3.5 mph hour wich was not bad come to a big hill i say to him you better speed beacuse that massey is going to pass you. He had this attidtude that he was going walk right up this hill up to 5 mph get to the top off the hill and boom there goes a rotor belt massey goes by. He says well belt must of not been tight from the last demo i just laughed and said go back and get one intown. Comes back out with new belt i ran it in about a 100 acres wouldnt do any better then the massey. Wasnt to happy about what it was throwing over lots of grain and the grain in the hopper wasnt to clean had lots of heads. tryed setting it up better didnt seem to help much. Wasnt overly impressed with the deer i think massey makes a better combine and it still is cheaper to buy. After seeing the new massey 9560 work im going to say they will be taking over the combine market incridble combine.

Yea I'm not impressed with the Deere combines either, I'd like to see what the new massy combines can do now that I seen what the new cat 770 can do, 5.5 mph in wheat is pretty impressive with a40ft header

Ha just used our own combines to finish the harvest. Put them through the 9760.
Noticed that the case revs out at 2100 rpm, and the low engine alarm comes on at 2000 rpm. The 9870 revs out at 2300, and the alarm also comes on at 2000. That's 200 more rpms to play with.......

You should be able to set the low engine alarm to a lower rpm if you what. I did that on our CR 9070 and the monitor should be the same in the case.

I turned it off and just kept an eye on it. Next best thing to do, is to just buy green.

I was done until I picked up some custom work from the neighbor. He left a quarter of standing canola, can't wait to straight cut. I left a 10 acre test strip with the canola council, liked it but it was not enough of a test. A quarter should do for a test.

I agree this combining season comes and go's way to fast!

Yea we missed a swath of oats after the combine was put away, I wanted to jus bale it up but dad decided to get the combine out again... But it makes a guy wonder, you spend $10,000 on a pickup you use evey day,,, yet you spend $300,000 on a combine you use a couple weeks out of the year... Make you wonder lol
