yes they did find a way to win and Van didn't but to be honest I personally did not like the way "they won" including Aaron Rome's suspension etc etc.

as one of the biggest and long term nuck fans out there I have to disagree, Boston found a way to win and they did so effectively. Game 7 was all Boston, hands down. Boston is a good team and in all honesty I do miss ol fashioned hockey.

Keep in mind, the Bruins did not call the penalties nor did they hand out suspensions during the 2011 finals. Those were given out by the NHL (Shanahan) and the referee's, so if you want to hate on someone for your team not winning the cup, hate on the refs and the NHL, not the Bruins.

Or you can blame it on Rome because after he hit Horton and put him out of the playoffs, that lit a fire under the Bruins and they outscored the Canucks by a 17-4 margin the rest of the way. The Canucks won their 3 games all by 1 goal.

I'd call that domination by the B's.

either way, my argument is justified that I don't like the way the cup was won. My circle of die hard Canuck fans also complain that they got the shaft when it came to questionable calls. Even John Garrent / sports announcer wrote an article on the way calls are made against the Canucks. Anyway, it's water under the bridge and looking forward to a rematch :)

Ouch!! Boston got spanked by the Canucks, oh well, I think that rivalry has pretty much run its course.

Bruins are rolling right now, they've scored 18 goals in their last 3 games while giving up 6. Hopefully they are not peaking too early. Playing Montreal tonight at home and I hope the scoring trend continues.

I'm not a real Bruins fan, but I think Iginla is a good fit there. Been following them a lot more closely since he signed with them. It will be interesting to see what they do after the break as far as trades, and can they keep this momentum going?

That's a good question but since we only have 3 players playing in the Olympics, I'm hoping the rest of the team will be healed up and ready for a cup run. Love Iginla, he fits right in the Boston style of play, I hope we can get him a cup before he retires.

Can the Bruins make it 11-0 against the Av's? Bruins have a very good record against the western conference teams and I think they have a shot of taking this current streak to 14. Would love to see the Bruins break the old Bruins record of 14 straight wins but getting to the SCF's is the ulitmate goal.

GO BRUINS!!

15-0-1 in the month of March and the hottest team in the NHL. Can they get the Presidents Trophy? With 7 games remaining on the schedule, I like their chances, even with 5 of those games being on the road but it will depend on if Julien rests some of the players or not.

We've got the Atlantic Division sewn up and if they get 6 out of the possible 14 remaining points, they'll get the Eastern Conference home ice advantage throughout the playoffs. Would love to see Iginla get a cup with the Bruins, he certainly deserves it!!

Iginla NHL 1st star for March! Good to see him putting out some good numbers again. Fits in so much better in Boston, he has certainly rejuvenated his game.

As for the Presidents Trophy, I think it is certainly attainable as long as they don't look past their remaining opponents. Nobody is going to roll over for them. Going to be an interesting post season for sure.

You're right, Iginla fits the mold of what a Boston Bruins player should be, to a T. First star for the month of March, you don't see too many Bruins players get that kind of recognition. I wish he would have been with the Bruins last year, we might have had a better shot at winning the cup against Chicago.

Should be another good game tonight in Detroit, though without Datsyuk I like the Bruins chances against them. I find it a bit odd that Julien isn't resting any of the big name players like Bergeron, Chara, Iginla, Lucic, etc, etc. He must really want that Presidents Trophy but IMO, I think they will do well even if they don't win it so it shouldn't be a primary focus for the team.

Another note, I think Rask has a very good chance at the Vezina trophy this year. He has really developed since Thomas moved over.

I agree.

I watched last nights game and apparently I spoke too soon on my last post. Julien did rest Iginla and Bartkowski so he is resting players over the next 7 games. Something I don't understand with disallowed goals, why aren't the refs allowed to review them? It was pretty clear on replay that Chara didn't interfere with Howard on that Krug goal, but with no review the call stands. Other than the bad call, it was a pretty good game last night, I thought the Bruins owned the Wings for the majority of the game but a stellar Howard in net and a bad line change cost them the game.

I'm not sure that winning the Presidents Trophy is a good thing, only 4 times has the PT winner won the SC in the last 14 years.

Well, it will be interesting to see if home ice advantage throughout the playoffs will work in their favour! Presidents Trophy clinched with win over Sabres.

Well they had a very good record at home but only time will tell.

First up, the Red Wings, we need to take the first 2 at home and get at least one on the road. Boston played well on the road this year but have had diffculties against the Red Wings this season.

The Habds should have lost yesterday, the reffing in that game sucked ballz but without Bishop in the net, Tampa will be lucky to win 1 game.

Bruins and Wings tied up at 1, if the Bruins can continue playing like they did yesterday, they should take the series in 5 games. Some outstanding goal tending in this series too.

I'm surprised Brent Seabrook was only suspended 3 games but that's long enough for the Blues to finish them off and I hope they do it. That was an awful hit on Backes, hopefully for St Louis he'll be able to play in tonights game. Would love to see Chicago eliminated in the first round.
