Facts regarding the hit and when it happened mean nothing, it was a very careless hit, intentionally or not, I don't view the big guy as a dirty player, however with that particular hit I'm kind of on the fence with him

Homecoming for Iginla tonight, I hope he is treated well by the fans and organization and suspect he will be. I also hope he plays well and leads the B's to another win tonight.

since Aaron Rome got ousted of the 2011 playoffs for 4 games on a questionable play, Thornton should get 20 games for that brain dead action. Cant believe these players continue to push their luck on the ice. If that were outside a bar he would have been taken away in handcuffs.

Couldn't agree more, his true colors came out that night

His hearing is tomorrow, I expect a minimum of 10 games plus what he has already served. I don't get the "his true colors coming out" statement, has he done something like this before? No, he hasn't and he's never been suspended. He lost his temper and he'll accept it and move on. The Bruin hater mentality gets tiring and so does defending it.

Neal should have gotten more than 5 games because he is a repeat offender and that hit Oorpik put on Erickkson was not a clean one. It's no wonder Thornton lost his temper, after seeing so many Bruins players leave the game with concussions he's probably grown tired of it.

TSN.ca said they are taking their time on this one as they are not only considering his actions but also the legality of it as well. I wouldn't be surprise that it exceeds 20 games myself. Again, these players have to be severely punished for their actions including Neil etc etc. These are peoples lives and careers and the NHL needs to put a stop to un-necessary plays beyond the body checking etc.

I'm not a bruin hater nor do I have that mentality , that isn't the first time he's given a cheap shot, it's just the first time he has been caught

you bet :) after the BS we watched during the 2011 run I lost my respect for that team and not because we lost but the way it was won. And don't say spilt milk because there is a lot of whining about the knee to Marchands head on the net from Boston fans. Like the old saying goes……….. karma is a $itch LOL

as one of the biggest and long term nuck fans out there I have to disagree, Boston found a way to win and they did so effectively. Game 7 was all Boston, hands down. Boston is a good team and in all honesty I do miss ol fashioned hockey.

Good post, never thought i'd see a Canuck fan actually stick up for the Bruins.

It's been over 2 years since we won the cup against the Canucks and it's obvious that the bitterness is still there. The Canucks had their chance and couldn't seal the deal, don't blame the Bruins, blame the Vacnouver players. And like S.W.A.T. said, game 7 was all Bruins, they took it in your building and quite easily I might add. :thumb:
