Avalanche Forecast

Travel Advisory...

At treeline and Below Treeline We are Concerened about people triggering Avalanches in Snow that Covers a Hard Crust. As the Snow builds up and consolidates over the Crust,Avalanches will become more and more probable,especially in Steep Glades near Treeline. At higher Elevations westerly wind and new snow may provide good conditions for windslabs to build up. WATCH YOUR STEP UP THERE !!!

Avalanche Activity...

Avalanches triggered this weekend will likely run when weak sugary faceted snow on the Dec. 5 Crust. There is a possibility of these Avalanches substantially growing in size if they step down to the Nov.24 facet, surface Hoar , Crust Interface.

The Nov.24 weak layer is 100-120cm deep!!

Alpine...Considerable
Treeline...Moderate
Below Treeline...Moderate
