Plus I'm still getting someone saying that I should tear the whole engine down and rebuild the crank. Others saying just replace. Eff I just wish there was one answer ugh

well depending on the mileage and where your at money wise if ya want to patch it and sell then go the cheap route if ya want to keep it and ride for a long time do it right the first time

I'd rather do it right the first time. Might as well.

I hate it when that happens :d

It seems bad now but whats worse is fixing it half a$$ then 6 months or a year down the road regret it and wish you did it right the first time then have to spend the that money aways just to fix it right. It's tough to do but bite the bullet and do it right the first time. :twocents:

Yeah so true. I want to do it right. Calling everyone and there dog to find a deal in Canada, or to see who in the states like MT or Idaho will ch!t it for cheaper.

Just sooo p!ssed at the dealer that sold it to me. So much so I want to yell their name from the roof top...I think after all the issues I've had, he deserves it...

Willy from Chunk Motorsports in High River AB. The guy who refused to talk to me when I found out how I was getting screwed with how much it was costing me, all the issues I've had since day one on the sled, oil leak, starting problems and now the engine issue on a supposedly "new" engine.

Grrrrrrr

Yeah. Chunk Motorsports.

And please note...this is MY experience with him. I am shocked because I have never heard anything bad about the guy...then he pulls this on me...

Yep... $11,500 is what it will cost me at the end of financing. Unless I pay it off early...but with all the issues I've had, that will never happen. He's a crook.

Yeah, new crate motor will be the right fix for it, then she should be good. I love my sled, but not $11,500 love it...If he was any kind of a salesman he woulda sold me a new sled, but he made soo much off me on this used one.

Ugh...oh well. Still LOVE my sled, still LOVE sledding, and have had a blast. So can't complain TOO much, haha

I hate piss poor service! It just kills me to see businesses like that all over they sell something then run the other way after they got your money. Then when they see you they act a little sheepish to even talk to you. Where I bought my quad they said they would do the oil change and inspection etc. after the 10 hour break-in period (free of charge). So I took it there and when I got it back (before I went for a ride) I got a feeling to pull the fill plug on the rearend......... empty:eek::eek::eek: Thats right nothing in it!!! talked to them about it and they acted suprised but never offered to make it right or give me the oil to fill it for free. Needless to say that was the last and only time my quad has went to town. Since then I have been learning all I can about my machine and doing the work myself. I guess some dealers just want to sell new and never service but I will remember that when it comes time to trade.

ahh I took er down. Isn't quite so steel in pieces, lol

just steel pieces:d

nice thing if you do it your self a rebuild what you have, you know exactly what you got when done. buying a short block you have no idea who did it , if they had a clue what they are doing, warrenty will be a beotch cause doing it your self regardless of what happens they would try to blame on the install part of build. etc.
doing it from ground up by yourself you can also add a few minor mods/ personell touches to engine internals for better life and power as well. short block maybe faster but not necesarily the best way. very hard decision to make.
thats why i ride old junk. it breaks down i can say fug it and go buy another one.:dlol

not sure how much you owe, but the longer you take to pay the more it costs you. a 275,000 mortgage will cost you $750,000 over 30 yrs, expensive house, if you ask me. same as cars, sleds. you will always find some boner who will tell you you could have gotten cheaper, take it as it goes they are boneheads. happens all the time, yeah bone heads.

Thats brutal. Grrr. some dealers hey! Ugh. See but they don't understand the value of RETURN customers. I will never go back nor recommend anyone to go there ever. I will buy somewhere where they give me quality service and follow through on what they say. Mind you, next time I'll come into it looking out to NOT be screwed.

That is true, but I have to take other people's time and tools to rebuild. If I had the mechanical skill and knowledge I'd probably try that, but not knowing and having zero mechanical skill, it's hard for me to ask someone else to do it for me.

I owe $7,600 + interest on it. As soon as I get my raise, I'm going to start slapping as much $$ on that as possible.

haha I hear that, of the $20,000 in mortgage payments I made, only $5,000 was principle, the rest was interest. 25 year mortgage and 3 years down. Wooooo! lol
