haha yeah...but I still hate asking for help. I'm the "do it myself" kinda gal. Unless I physically can't or don't know how.

But back on a serious note you dont have the know how......whats the difference if you ask for help from friends or ask a repair shop??? I think it would be an awsome learning experience that way when something minor happens you will understand it and be able to fix it yourself.

Yep! I do ask for help from my two guy friends, just don't want them to get sick of me asking, haha. I get in there and work on my sled myself too, they guide and watch. Pulled the engine once already, pulled off the oil pump, rebuilt the clutches and some other basic work. So I am learning, and I do love it. Just a slow process.

You know my vote is for the new shortblock (From BRP) But I would still dismantle the motor you have now just to see exactly what failed and maybe learn a thing or two. I have done that in the past, then just bolt it back together loosely and when I have sent it to BRP as a core they haven't had any issues with that.

My vote is anew short block as well, its not much more money to go this way. I also won't patch & fix, Karma is a bitch. My motor came with most all gaskets inlcuding for the head. I had to buy a water pump gasket as i got abit aggressive and torn it during dismantle. Once you get the short block you will be up & running in an afternoon. Nows the time to clean up the engine bay while the motors out. I would help you as well if you were a tad closer but sounds like lots of peep here are willing in your area. Good on ya for wrenchin girl, my wife is scared to gas the darn thing up let alone wrench on it.:d Heres another boring pic for ya'll.

New engine is the only way to go, rebuilding it is cheap, but you get what you pay for, i spent $4060 on my engine, and its still not new and still causing greif,,,,, it's not fun. I just hope other people have enough sence to lean from other's sadly i didnt know and had to find that out the hard way

Also you won't believe the difference in power, my buddies swore up & down that i put an 827 kit in on the first ride in the hills. You get used to the reduced power over time but really notice when it's back. I still love my REV better over the new XP, i don't know maybe it's just me but i'm still getting used to the new ride.

Thanks! I'm going to pressure wash her when I get the motor out. Basically just get everything cleaned and all purty again. I love wrenching on it. Enjoy every second of it when someone shows me how to do it and explains it. I don't like when they just do it and I stand there like a moron however. I have to learn, I have no choice, got into the sport alone, and have no one to do it for me. I like it better this way anyhow, learn about what you love. Then I'm not "that" girl if ya know what I mean :p:d

yeah I'm not gonna bother with the rebuild. Calling around now to get deals on motors in Canada, not having much luck. Might just order it from the states. Even if I could find a dealer in Calgary willing to go $1700-$1800 I'd buy it here.

ya I tried to call him and no answer on the number on their website. Just exploring options and called and begged Bow South for a better deal, they are gonna get back to me. On hold with the border to see if I walk an engine across what the fees will be.
