You can program it with just the radio but that would be a pain.

I went through the manual quickly tonight. I will educate myself a little more tomorrow with chirp

Most truckers use vhf radios on the LADD frequencies now.
LADD 1 seems the equivalent to ch 19.
While Ladd 1 may be used extensively it is not the same as CB 19. They are different frequencies entirely.

I believe he was referring to the content on the channel. A lot of truckers complaining about everything from the weather to open scales to f@ckin' four wheelers!

I hate online shopping... im looking for decent external mic for the UV5R. I found one with an antenna/mic, has anyone tried it?

Buy it and give us some feed back, i have tried at least 10 mics so far not that one. probably wasted a couple hundred bucks so far.

I know its probably somewhere already but does someone have a list of channels that would coordinate with the Garmin rino channels?

That antenna is going to be a pain in the butt... Its always going to be in the way and also give another point of failure with the antenna relocated if the cord fails.
