Frequency List/CHIRP Image for Sledding & Baofeng Radios

I've come across the same info as Phat Cat. It may come down to a firmware version thing. To be on the safe side, it might be a good idea to just open the img file in CHIRP and copy the lines that you want, then paste them into the config file that you downloaded from your radio.

Hey Duggyb I hope you dont mind me adding to this thread. I have been doing a lot of research on how to program these radios. Thanks to yourself and others I have been able to understand the programming better. I have a file that I am willing to share here > https://www.dropbox.com/s/dd1cfz898riuf32/Sledding Radio Frequencies S&M Share.csv?dl=0 It is a CSV file that can be imported into CHIRP and loaded onto different baofeng models as well as the UV-5R. You might want to open this file in CHIRP to look at it. I have entered in a brief description of the channels in the comments column.

>This file includes all FRS / GMRS channels with privacy tones (you can change to your preference or keep these)
> BC Link factory channels
>MURS
> LADD
> All Resource Road (RR) channels (logging road channels)
> A couple of scanner channels (I have programmed these so that you can not transmit)
> Weather channels
> Common Logging road channels that will soon be replaced by the RR channels
> And some Repeater channels.

Please understand the Industry Canada Amature Radio laws if you want to transmit on channels other than the FRS / GMRS channels. This file can not be uploaded to your radio as a CSV file but can be imported into your own IMG file that will be uploaded to your radio. It can be modified to your liking. Make sure you read Duggyb's first post. Here is instruction on how to import the CSV file into your IMG file.

- Open CHIRP
- Connect your radio with the programming cable (I had to press quite hard to make sure the cable was pressed all the way in the radio)
- Turn radio on
- click on Radio > Download from Radio
- Make sure you have the correct COM port selected on your computer. You may, or may not have to install a driver from here. Services_BAOFENG official website_baofengradio.com
- Select the make and model of your radio. click OK
- Now the radio should be cloning.
- Now you should have a channel list (.IMG) of your radios memory. (This is YOUR IMG file and should be for your radio only) Make sure you have 0 - 127 memory range entered near the top above the frequencies.
- If you want to save this factory list for future then click on Save As and save the .img file to your computer
- Now to use the file that I made then click on File > Import.
- click on the drop down box in the lower right corner and select CSV Files
- Find the CSV file that you downloaded from Dropbox.
- An Import from File window will pop up. Click ok.
- On the right side you will see the Power column. As Duggyb has said it is advised to select Low power for FRS/ GMRS/ MURS channels.
- There are 17 empty slots that you can add extra frequencies to if you like.
- On the left of the screen you will see the settings tab. click on it.
- In Basic Settings you will see Display Mode (A) and (B). Set these to Name. That way the name of the channel will be displayed on your radio instead of the channel or frequency. If you hate the Roger beep on radios you can uncheck it here as well.
- Click on Radio > Upload to Radio.
- Now your radio should be programming.
- Finished, Enjoy!

thanks for the list phat cat. I finally got around to programming my radios and it is a bit tricky thats for sure. You really gotta fallow things to a T or els you have to start over and i had to keep closing chirp to get it to connect again. but with a little patience its pretty easy.

I'm glad it all worked out for you. I used my radios sledding last weekend and will be using them again for the next 3 days. They worked awesome last weekend. We were in a group that had the BCA Link radios and the Baofengs worked great to communicate with them and other frs/gmrs radios.

just programmed both my gt-3tp radios with phat cats list, just follow the directions.....thanks man

as an add on since the gt-3tp is not listed as a radio on the drop down i had to use BF-F8hp and all worked fine

That is a good list, the Tsql will let you only hear on the sub channel (it is still the same frequency) that is selected. If you want to hear on all sub channels you can set tone to none. When Transmitting if you want someone on a sub channel to hear you you need to transmit the same tone that their receiver is on. On the VHF band I have found that DTCS help in eliminating random noise.

On my kenwood 7360 I could hear but not transmit going up some of the roads. Is this a programming issue or?? Im totally new. It works from the combine to the grain truck lol

I had that issue tonight. So I had reprogrammed the radios and it works now.

By the way thanks to guys who made the CSV file. Sure saves a lot of button smashing.

it broadcasts local weather forecasts 24/7...alternates between english and french.

just wondering if anybody has an update for this thread. I would super appreciate anybody posting their hard work compiling a database of GMRS/RR/FRS frequencies so i can program my puxing with CHIRP. Finally got this working on my mac and would love to update the two radios I have to work with my rino's.
