try this waterproof IP67 mic, I found it clear and reliable, though expensive. You will need K1 connector for Baofeng:

I hate online shopping... im looking for decent external mic for the UV5R. I found one with an antenna/mic, has anyone tried it?

Is it actually an ip67.
Looks like a standard ip54 boafeng mic to me.

Is there a seal around the ptt button?

It’s pretty easy if you have/buy the cable and then clone the program from a radio that is already programmed.

It’s been a while since I messed around doing it but I have a cable and a program if needed.

Looking at the PTT button I see no seal. I originally had the standard Baofeng mic and was not happy with the quality and it broke on me - this is certainly a different construction/manufacturer and to me has a clearer voice output. I have used it two seasons now with no sock/snow cover and it has been flawless.

If Ron doesn’t get it done for you I’m sure I can. I kinda need to reprogram a few of mine so they are all the same. (But I have a long todo list).

But what you should do load chirp on your lab top and meet up and use one of our Cables and clone the program into your computer then load the program in your radios.

Cables are cheep if you ever need to do another.

I have a cable, I should look into it. I was contacted by a couple guys, so I’d like to get this figured out.

new 771 antennas and “waterproof” mic’s arrived. I’ll test next weekend.

I have had zero problems for the Baojie 218, no wiring needed. Their mics are poor quality though.
