Heard the septic system would be next? Lol
oof.....hope not. that's a chitty job. pun intended.

my effluent hose cracked and sheared off underground at the septic tank a few years back. fluid slowly eroded the dirt around the septic tank until it reached the opening above and just kept recirculating until the septic tank filled to the brim. had to run a temporary line cribbed above ground out into the field until summer. borrowed a backhoe and dug 'er out, 13 feet down until I found the hose.

That is chitty!!!
But............. Be thankful that you have a field, I have a self contained septic tank. That needs to be pumped out every 4 or so months.
My check valve let go a couple of years ago, and that was another chitty job. But I didn't fix that one, I payed dearly for someone else to do it.

So the male end of the 90 degree street fiitting, broke off inside the female.
Is that connection a part of the housing of the pitless adaptor? Or is it a part of the well casing? Or do I have to pull the pump, to fix this? I tried to make my own easy outs, but the steel i used was too soft.

If I can find around a 7/8's easy out, I could have house water in 15 mins.

Any Suggestions???

You just have to get the broken threaded elbow remains out...
It is not part of the pitless just a pipe fitting. If you can't get it out you have to pull the pump to remove the pitless
. Can not heat it up because of rubber seals. Spray it with some pent . Oil and like what you said some kind of and easy out or a tap/die might work...??
when you reinstall pack the ground well below the new elbow and have it facing down at about 4:00 o'clock sonit can swing down with out breaking off . Lots of slack in water line and connection too....

hope this helps....

Thanks Neville, that does help
I was hoping the pitless was a part of the casing, so I didn't have to pull the pump. So now I need an easy out or something to get the 90's threads out, or pull the pump and go from there

Are you smiling this morning or still waterless???

That has been a pita. No wonder you are thinking of selling/moving. Homeless fires only doo so much for the soul but then again you doo have a lot of quiet times out there.

I'm still waterless Doug. Hoping to rent a pipe extraction kit today and get the broken part out. Or I'm going to need to pull the pump, and buy a new pitless adaptor housing.

At least it isn't -30 with a stiff wind blowing.......
That is the only thing I'm liking about this task.

If it was -30, I would have paid someone

Well.......... Stopped by Aaron Drilling this morning, as a referral from Dusty aka threadkiller. Steve over there knew what to say, and what to sell me without breaking the bank.
A BIG thank you to my neighbors across the street, I owe them huge!!!
Darcy, Neville, Troy, Dean, and everyone else without back reading

I had to pull the pump today, put new housing and pitless. Once the basic hook up was done, we ran the pump in the pit. Yesterday afternoon I had to put a sump pump in the pit yesterday early, and had to run it manually sooner than later very often.
At 4:45pm today, I had positive pressure to my house with no leaks :)

Thanks again to everyone, I learnt a LOT in the last couple of days. :beerchug:
