What did you settle with on primary weight and helix angle and wrap on secondary?
Haven’t settled need another trip to compare 2 different setups. And fine tune a bit more.

The SSI profile looks much better than my STM weights, I have noticed a little less bottom end pull with the STM weights as well, we will see I guess, they are also a pain in the ass to change on the hill, small screws etc whereas the SSI is a magnet. I need to get my machine to proper RPM as I have never had it do so the whole time I have owned it with the 174, got close, 8700 rpm but now I want it dialled and then gonna try some custom helix's, should hit 70 mph + when I am done I figure. The best part of the Sidewinder is that it is no slouch even though I am low on rpm and I just like to ride but I need to make time next trip so I can really get er hummin!
Great build Xm rider 163, and good informative thread. What is the results on the clutching?
I am thinking about upgrading from my viper and purchasing a winder. Some pretty good deals around on 17's and 18's.
Xmrider, I’m going to pull the trigger on the Evo stage 4 on my SW this year. Do you run 91 octane? And I also ride around home if snow lets me (2800’). Is that flash ok at lower altitude as well? Thanks.
I will give you some friendly advice or my opinion..... The Stage 4 from EVO (this is a PEFI Product as EVO no longer does sleds) is very expensive for what you get. The OEM turbo will not make any of these claims of HP at any elevation other than SL.... You can throw all the FI, exhaust (header) Pump, reflash you want and it will not perform at elevation. Even the claimed 270hp tunes from any of them either it be PEFI, Hurricane, MapTune, BMP, TD etc..... they may be 225 at best at say 6000-8000ft. This stock IHTA Turbo does not have the volumetric efficiency to increase such numbers beyond SL....
If in fact you're serious of doing this my advice would be do the MCX Stage 3.... you get the 19T coupled with matched injectors therefore actually getting acclaimed power as advertised without adding a header (that will probably crack), and whatever gizmos. Don't get me wrong PEFI builds and designs some very beautiful products....!
Goodluck.
Thanks. Ya I totally know the advertised hp numbers are grossly inflated, but without going huge, one of these flashes to get a bit more seems legit. Just like to know what I’m getting into because I don’t know anybody with a sled like this. Do enjoy going through all the posts though, lots of good.......and bad info. Lol
Hey I don’t think you can go wrong with tossing an exhaust, intake, tune, and some clutching. Is it going to be 300hp........ no but it feels better then stock, sounds better. And gives you that little extra.
As for which tune as far as mountain experience seems to be more of a pick your poison approach based on what I seen with the tunes I’ve rode with. So find local support and availability and pricing then enjoy.
Stage 3 mcx is clearly the winner from what I’ve read and seen. Randy said it’s very powerful and pulls really hard. And this would be my choice doing it all over again $$$ for HP.
