I’m trying out some Yamaha 8LR00 Weights loaded up to 73G! Aswell as the secondary set at 3-3 60 degrees! This lowered my engagement to 3100 from 4100, and should be a world of difference from the stock setup that was for 8000-10000ft!

This setup was recommended to me by Lund, and I’m super excited to see how it performs now

Yep there sure is some helpful people with a ton of knowledge on here that are very willing to help out others! Not sure when first ride will be but will forsure give info after

How your sled work in Revy with your new clutch calibration's?
Did you notice a difference with the lighter hood?

Well I returned the DTYA-1’s and went with the QA62’s and with the heavier snow about 1-2 feet depending on where you were I was bouncing rev limiter still. We did a bunch of pulls over SuperBowl testing all 3 sleds. Steep enough and long enough to watch speeds and rpm.

I ended up maxing them at 69.4G and I’m still off the EVO rev limiter at 9600rpm.

So I have a few things I’m going to try 39 degree helix and possibly move up to QA66’s see what the result will be. Sled pulls much better with the Daltons. The lightweight parts look cool and are nice but I also lost 20lbs in the gym before season started so it feels night n day for me.

Really happy with the sled other then blowing 1 belt in 2 days but I’m thinking it has to do with the over Rev. I didn’t have anymore weight to put in so I just feathered the throttle lots.

And I need to add a coupler or get a 174 setup for climbing because even with the rear shock pumped up to 190psi and Locked Out it was a wheelie machine on steep pulls. Even just over the SuperBowl.

The Lower CFR Bars helped quite a bit climbing actually allowing me to move forward and put more weight on the front with more control felt great. And the bars are so clean now love it.

CR Hood looks mean, super light!

Cr Boards are probably best upgrade on these sleds no snow build up was awesome made a big difference.

Used my FrankenSled Helmet Light on the way down at the end of day 2 and it will work great for the times you need one.

Had a new track installed under warranty and it started to stretch halfway through day 1 so I had to tighten that up on the hill started to ratchet/skip.

Other then that mix of bluebird and cloudy periods great trip. Got to ride with Stacy(kibbels) and Paul(Catman10) both great riders and great guys we had a good first trip out.

Sweet looking build, great job on it.


Once the seats on and clutching is dialed I’ll be one happy Boosted 4Stroke guy. Love it!! So much fun to ride and the sound blasting up a climb is unlike anything else!

Well clearly your sled is pulling hard good to hear I can say I’m surprised about clutch weights as there is two of us running identical set up and there is no way we could throw 69 grams in. I will say any time we tested last year we had extreme snow load(3feet+) but like you said when pulling a hill at max load somewhere around the 9000rpm mark. Flat on a lake if you stab it yes I could hit rev limiter. I spent a lot of time messing with these clutch weights and was defiantly in lighter side than you.

In the video, it sounds like the secondary isn't backshifting. The secondary is sticking in one position causing lazy throttle response and heating up the belt as it can't hang on to the belt with horsepower in high gear at lowish speed. Kinda like a powerful diesel pickup truck 4 speed manual tranny staying in 4th gear towing a loaded trailer up a steep highway hill. It would be better to shift it into 3rd or 2nd.
I can see that it picks up speed when poaching but it kinda lays over in the fresh when coming from a track poach. This tells you that the clutching is off but we knew that. When clutched well, there should be little or no difference on fresh or tracked and it should accelerate in the fresh.
The way you describe the belt it's the same belt damage as my friends winder. I'd say the secondary is binding, the primary is wanting to close but it can't and the massive torque is simply yanking the belt apart.
The Yammies are having troubles with the secondaries since last year but I haven't held one in my hand to check out what is causing the issues. Dunno if it's a tolerance issue or roller issue.
Remove the secondary spring, reassemble and operate the clutch in your lap. This may show if it is binding or not. Put some hi torque rollers and see if it helps.
Get it close to 8800rpm +- 400 rpm and then work on the secondary to get a backshift that you are happy with. Then go back to the primary and fine tune rpms.
A thunder products primary clutch cover will help also but won't fix the secondary issue. I talk a lot.
She gonna rip when it's sorted out!9
