We rode Frisby on Friday and it was the best day of the weekend. A bit cloudy, but we chased sun dogs up top around dildo most of the day and the snow was excellent. Not deep powder, but deep enough and fresh enough you could do whatever you wanted without too much effort.

Saturday was foggy and we were back at Frisby playing in the trees. The light was pretty bad and everything was flat, so staying in the trees was the safest bet.

On Saturday we came across a burning sled dead center in the middle of the main Frisby trail about 3/4 of the way up before the cabin. It had melted about 2 feet into the snow and you could see that wood had been added to the fire to make sure it burned completely. Definitely deliberate. I can understand why it was done (stolen? insurance?), but why in the middle of the trail? Idiots.

We headed for Boulder on Sunday, but it was so socked in there was no point staying and we headed back to Frisby and into the trees again. We usually ride the McBride area, but the snow is so incredible in Revy we're already planning another trip in a few weeks.

Could you tell what the sled was?

Not really. It was still smoking after we pushed snow on it and put out the fire, so we couldn't get a good look at it. For some strange reason the handlebars had been cut off just outside the mounting points.

We stopped to look at the sled too after the fire was out. The owner came by as we were there with the story. It was an uninsured 06 Rev that had been sitting outside for about 5 years. They brought it out to the mountains and it had a fuel leak that lit it up. He had found a sled to drag it out on and was going to look after it. Seemed like a fairly responsible younger guy who was dealing with it.

I did notice that they were gone. I assumed that the lighter metal melted in the fire.

Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, he probably cut the bars off, cause at least he could recoup $500 cash for all the controls and it's easier to pack out!!! lol
Lmao! Only you would think of that Dusty the snowmobile recycler. When you doing the salvage run? Lol.
