Hopefully Doo comes out with a sled or clutch set up that you can do more then 2 passes at a hill with out the clutches getting so hot and burning belts from what I have herd from Doo owners.

I couldn't agree more my 08 xp(the worst of the xp's for belts) ate its first belt this year WTF!
2400 km all mountain, it lives at wfo, I couldn't believe it only lasted 3 yrs.

Gotta love people who dream in the clouds with dyno numbers hey?

Sent from my iPhone slayer.

you can always take off the BRP training pants and line 'em up with the next boosted 1100 you see on the hill if you think its just a dyno number.....

I ordered one (M1100T) and from the reading I did the capability of the Z1 / 1100T motor to me looked like about 240hp at sea level max? Take it up to 10,000ft and sustained with what ever map & fuel and it looks to me like maybe 215-220hp.

No hating here, the big numbers seem to be a bit of selling their stuff with inflated numbers compared to real world. Call me a skeptic.

Put a straight pipe on the turbo and pick up 8-10hp just freeing up the exhaust.

It will cost you twenty five bucks or what ever it is but dynotech has piles of tests on this motor for me it was worth it to read them over.

PS I looked at the turbo dynamic web site, I guess they have figured out some secrets if you believe them, race or open exhaust, ecu stage 4, super intercooler and cooler pipes, C16 = 300hp, even with some aftermarket bs factor that should be 270-280 at sea level.

Nobody loves Doo as much as me but its been my experience to walk softly around turbo sleds. The space shuttle is a heavy piece of crap but with the right amount of boost even it will go places..........just sayin'.:d:beer:

He started it. I'm saying I'm super sceptic about 500 horse. Ill have to see one first to believe it.

I have no doubt the ponies are high, but I've never seen a 1100 in the mountains.

The nytros have been at it since like 08 and I've never heard about a 500 horse nytro (or apex?) Then all of a sudden cat shatters ice with this?

You must have been on the moon junior low marks. Apex twin turbos have been 500 hp plus since the rx 1 came out in 2003. But very expensive to build. Trust me you will want a cat after they hit the snow this winter. As far as cat shattering the industry theres nothing new there. They have always had a very easy to mod power plant that kicks ass in drags , snowcross. Ect.

For like tha past 30-40 years cats has always had a hard on for continually building a sled wit hthe most hp in the sled market place. They love being the hp king! And like others have said the nice thing about the cats is it's easy to get more out of them compared to the set-up that doo put's out where it can be tought o get much more out of them powerwise with out going B/B or turbo. That being said the biggest and best gains a person can do with a doo is set-up and getting the most power to the snow the most efficient way posible.

I love the fact that cat brought out a 4stroke in a mtn chasis, i think it'll push yammy to step-up there game and also for doo to bring there 4stroke out in a mtn chasis. So all in all it's great for the sledding industry. I have also heard of more than one company in the states makin BIG power with the 1100. Another set-up that is supposedly makin around the 500hp mark they have had to modify the injection system to the point that they are running 6 injectors. And suzuki is known for building TOUGH motors, just sayin.

Lookin forward to this winter to actually see some of the new 1100t's on the snow..

I know lots of guys with the older suzuki quads and newer one's and havn't heard of to many motor issues. The flaw i see in there older quads was the design of having like three trannies in the crankcase for all the different ranges they had. As far as the cars i dont know and it is a COMPLETELY different division that would build the recreation stuff compared to there cars. It'd be like sayin the guys that build brp's trains also design there sleds.

See what Drew said. Lots of ice racers out there with 500 HP yammies, and there are some sleds that make that kind of power legit, but they are only run for 660 ft or 2000 ft at a time and not your daily driver.

Not saying that I'm not skeptical either, lots of 2 stroke and 4 stroke guys that talk about how much power they think they have, when in reality its probably about 70% of what they say (even us Doo riders). You don't race a dyno, and if you watch the A/F ratio in the dyno run above, you will see it spike the red a couple times...production mapping will likely be more conservative (my guess) but will still easily eclipse the 300 HP mark as a basic stock motor, IMO which was my point.

People are quick to call it down, if this was a first year sled with no backing, sure, it would be easier to pick on this sled, but this motor has been around for a couple years, on boost and with minimal issues.

The chassis will be the big one IMO, if the chassis works well and is nimble enough to use the power (like the Nytro), then they'll have a winner. If this is a boosted 1100, shoved into the 1993 Thundercat chassis (which handles like the goodyear blimp), then I predict EPIC failure, but it all remains to be seen, and I will surely be test riding one at the first opportunity I get.

Until the snow flies, its all speculation. Let's all ride the piss out of what we got and not worry about it. :D

if this thing is capable of 500 HP why didnt D&D & hall have it at hay days and beat on everyone. OH i know cause its a big load of bullchiz! one stop performance is king at hay days for a reason and dont think for a minute if hall could get 500 HP out of them that he wouldnt be racing it. D&D and hall are still running two strokes for a reason. the 1100 dosent make enough HP yet to run with the big dogs. So make all the claims you want untill i see it for my self i aint beleiving anything out of the cat house.

One of the ones that i've heard of that is up around the 500 mark is one that cutler has done. I do beleive that it is going to a great winter for boosted four strokes. I think this is great because it'll make yammy step-up there game since in the past they really were the only ones that built a four stroke mtn sled from the factory. Competition between the big four manufacturers is great for the sport.

500HP................pretty soon there won't be a hill big enough that it won't climb unless it's covered in rocks, not to mention that someone completely new to the sport with a pocket full of cash will now be able to go down to his/ her local dealer and buy such an animal to become a statistic on. Look at the Thunderstruck 10 trailer, it's amazing what they are climbing currently.220-280hp is plenty to still get a rush on and have good reliable fun IMO. I'll ride my stocker til BRP comes out with an affordable comparable.:d
