The new pro is on par with the skidoo xp at best. So not losing any ground there. Keep in mind this is still a heavy 4 stroke and only a certain market will purchase this. Also your not thinking clearly if you think skidoo isn't going to come out with something twice as cool in the next year or two.

Been waiting since 08 xp and the angle I'm getting at is the Pro's are doing really well with the turbo app so is the Cat, Doo not so much, I ride Doo so i hope they come up with something soon.:d

That sounds like quite a stretch.

Sent from my iPhone slayer.

I'm not a guy who will bs when it comes to sleds. Lol. I'm not saying the z1 turbo is the best sled. It's a tank and terrible as a ditchbanger. I'm saying It get the power to the ground and rips. The groomed trail across lac St Anne this winter was so smooth and I could hold the z1 well over 100 mph and it's just cruising along not even sounding like it's working hard. And not wide open. And that's with the boondocker set at stock. With a stage 2 exhaust. My brother and I have lots of sleds to run against it. 2010 f800. 2009 crossfire 800 r. 2009 crossfire 1000. 2009 m8 turbo. And a few nitros. They don't compare in a race. So cat put that motor in a light mountain chassis and gear it down ect. They are on the right path for us all to consider. Big factory power and cheap modability. I like that idea. No more 30 k nitros if this sled works like most of us hope.

Hopefully it works as well as everyone is saying it does. I know around here when doo came out with their 4 stroke it was going to kill every boosted yamaha around. Honestly I only know of a very few that really perform. All we can do is wait and see. Snow can't come soon enough!!!!

Hopefully Doo comes out with a sled or clutch set up that you can do more then 2 passes at a hill with out the clutches getting so hot and burning belts from what I have herd from Doo owners.

My uncle is a doo guy through and through and he has had to put a new engine in his 2008 xp. It is strictly a mountain ridden sled and the engine didnt go due to rider error-running out of oil etc. The sled only had 2500 km on it and i have an 2007 m8 with around 7000 km no engine trouble what so ever. O ya you can also easily put a turbo on a m8 without much trouble go try that on an xp:nono::p

I'm happy for ya.

You gotta remember that your 2007 M8 has power that is on par with the DOO 600 ETEC!:rolleyes:

Of course it will last longer.

There is lots of info / testing on this motor in the Z1, don't get your hopes too high 315 is a bs dyno run, not real world... according to dyno tech anyway. To make a real 315 you better get out your wallet.

d&d's dyno numbers are and have been known to be rediculusly high on everything they touch.real world 300HP is going to be a stretch with stock pistons and no cylnder work just another company promising the world to the cat fathfull . dont get me wrong hope it works out but their a couple of years behind the big boosted yammies.

I love it when the competition comes out with something new and the haters jump out of the woodwork saying its impossible. Like I said in my first post - 300 HP is not unrealistic for this motor, Speedwerx has been doing it for several years now with just WASTE GATE TWEAK AND MAPPING! This is not anything new for AC since this motor has been out for several years now and the aftermartket has had lots of time to play with it. Here is the quote from Speedwerx website so read it and weep: :D

This is as simple as it gets for adding serious HP to your 1100 PROCROSS/PROCLIMB Turbo sled. We have developed our own software that will allow us to reprogram the stock ECU to adjust fuel, boost limits, timing and waste gate activation / deactivation RPM. With this software there are no limits to what we can do to unleash the most power from your 1100 PROCROSS/PROCLIMB Turbo. All of these great features allow us to produce up to 290+ HP on the stock 1100 PROCROSS/PROCLIMB Turbo. ECU boxes that are sent in will be remapped within 1 business day for a fast and speedy turn around. For those that cannot wait, we have core boxes on hand ready to be sent out.

ECU mapping is available in 2 different forms. Our single map version were we can put any single map in your box, or our multi map function that allows us to run up to 4 different maps at one time and you can select on the go (real-time) which map you would prefer to run. Both set-ups look stock and can easily be hidden from your competition.

Base maps available:

•87 octane safe trail map 177 hp w/ Speedwerx light weight muffler.
•91 octane safe trail map 210 hp w/ Speedwerx light weight muffler.
•91 octane safe trail map 240 hp w/ Speedwerx light weight muffler.
•110 + octane or Speedwerx Meth injection lake race 260 hp w/ Speedwerx light weight muffler.
•114 + octane 290+ hp with our Speedwerx waste gate mod.

second dumbest post of the year goes too....

speak for yourselves not our problem your buddies sleds junk and eats belts. get it fixed and stop whining

Fact: doo had a poor stock belt setup from factory and most people on the hill don't change it thus hot clutches can occur after a few pulls. Can it be fixed? Absolutely! . Etecs seem to have a more improved setup though!
Boy I sure am looking forward to this cat on the hills!!! Love the solid Suzuki motors! :d
