Hey Steel Town, from what i can see yeah there's old tech put to an old 800r motor in that crappy power robbing e-tech. They added 36lbs of weight to your cornice dropper!...at least cat didn't do that..lol, are you blind or just that stupid, ohhh and lets not forget the wraps....that makes it even more aerodynamic right? is that where doo's technology is goin? I didn't know BRP's head engineer's where olympic athletes...hahaha.
So before you go harpin on me check your facts and think about what your saying.

Oooohhh and the best part....on top of that rediculous price you get an extreme mountain sled that weighs 489 lbs!...hahahaha what a joke! same hp as the past two years but lets add 36 lbs that'll make it climb. Friggin thing won't be able to make it up to drop off anything "extreme"...hahha

Worst thing about bashing is back pedalling to try ansd make it not sound so bad.

It doesnt matter what brp comes out with....they still suck without full out EFI and there shitty clutch set-up....that's the recipe for handling boost and without it they'll still be at the bottom watchin me go over the top in 2011...hahahhaahha

But on a serious note in a couple years Brp will figure that out too and then we'll see a bad-ass sled. I hope they introduce a 4-tec summit for 2012.....be nice to see some yellow mixing it up with the blue in the 4-stroke turbo scene.

Anyways boys we can state our points and argue about every technical thing each brand has to offer but it ruins these forums....like i said before as long as we're all riding and nobody experiences an avy its all good man. I apologize to anyone who took any comments of mine as "bashing"....that's not my intention. I hope this new doo is all its supposed to be as well.


Come on with the 1200 summit...ill be waiting in line for one of those...

i dont know. its always good to get into a healthy debate over a new product. were all riders here but a good argument gets some good [points out.

It's good to irk that's for sure, and a good debate is great too. Awesome to read others view on things. But continuos bashing, then back pedaling is lame. His type seems turbo, and everything else is junk. Everyone has had real good points about BRP's new line up that I never even thought originally, and was very happy to have read.

I really couldnt beleive all the criticism, I truly see a lot of positives from the new offered changes, maybe I just havent been around along enough. I spend most of my life around trucks, diesels in particular and man I would be thrilled to see options in a truck like BRP is offering on a sled.

Agree the pricing is high, but in comparison it seems in line...I still like buying used or hold over so I have never been in the boat of owning a spring model but I guess the way I am looking is that I have gotten a good deal on my Everest, I now have the option to sell it for a good price, someone else gets a good deal then I can pony up the difference and go for a spring model, or keep riding the Everest. To me, lots of options and choices.

I see new technology, features that people ask for, and factory equipment that we have had to add at our own expense before, I just cant be critical.

Anyways, the debate is always fun, bashing is unneccessary until there is a perfect sled, and that will NEVER happen...Unless HONDA makes one bwaaaahahaha :)

I was just looking at the weights of the sleds.
Freeride E-Tec 800- 489lbs
Summit X E-Tech 800- 453lbs
Summit Everest P.TEK- 449lbs

I guess all that reenforcement comes at a price:confused:

New Polaris 800 RMK 155 weight is 431 lbs :d
160 hp and gorgeous. Power to weight ratio anyone. Would love to see Doo advertise this ratio as they used to now. :p
Chassis technology in this sled is far above anything on the market.
The 800 reliabilty issues are history this year. So....What does Doo have on the Poo. An E tec engine with better fuel economy! Low priority on my list. Performance, reliability, ride and fun factor are my only concerns. If the new Poo proves to be reliable...The clear winner in my books.

They look great but $16 grand for a free ride doesn't sound free and posted weight of 489lbs dry It's a tank.How come they keep making these summits heavier?

the freeride is based of the RS race chassis. way stiffer and alot more bracing. it will hold up to the 100ft drops that no one can do.

it will be a SOLID chassis. i really dont think the extra few lbs will matter.

lets face it most people riding are +-100lbs from eachother anyawys

Saw the video on the new RMK looks like they are changing toward ski doo look and technology.They look great if the motor works for a year they'll sell alot of them depending on price

Yes but I had a Yamaha pig with that kinda weight.Add the snow and liquids and call in the army to move it.Problem is they probably won't let you test pilot one and thats to bad cause they sure look good and to drop that coin you should be able to test ride first

The only reason you can compare Doo and Polaris in the same sentence is because Doo created the Rev/XP and then Polaris copied it. Look at last years XP and then look at the "new" Polaris and then you can tell me I'm right. Looks like Polaris is now at least two winters behind.

Get a dyno, a scale and $100 and I will wager against you that Polaris will be no where near either figure you've presented. I'm betting production #'s closer to 150-155 HP and 460lbs at least (more likely 470's).

Why it is that every year there is someone that actually believes the pre-production HP and weight #'s posted? And every year the manufacturers come to the table with an actual production sled that is heavier and makes less HP than the prototype. And every year someone posts up the same comments about their brand.

Let's all just STFU and RIDE!!!!!! :D

Would someone fill me in, am i missing something,How is this chassis technology, far above anything else. Polaris hasnt come up with anything on their own for years other than the Rush and no one seems to care about it. The entire sled is a knock off from a xp or an m series.
Iam not bashing the sled i think it will be pretty good if they have their reflashes figured out. Iam bashing you polaris owners who are tripping over yourselves over this so called new tech.Ive heard guys talking about the LED taillights,thats not new. the coilover torsion springs are gone,Oh boy cat did that three years ago.The front end of this sled is about as near to a xp as you can get without patent infrigemt. Seriously what is the hype polaris people,youre finely at where everyone else was three years ago.
Everyone jumped on doo when they turned the world around with the xp and had some reliabilty issues, but its pretty easy to show up late after someone else has done the work for you.
