I use to own a RX1 so no stranger to what they weigh and yes they are heavy!:d
rode with two nitros more than a few times last year, one was a stock nitro for the first 5 rides and then had to be turboed to get anywhere, the other nitro had the mcx 270 kit
the 270 kit had exhaust manifild leak for a good chunk of the season, it also pucked oil all over engine when fliped, big cleanup and needed oil, owner is spending a few more grand into it this year to rectify problem
as for the other nitro that received the full blown 320mcx kit mid season, he had tunning issues that never got figured out till end of season
i drove both tnitros and found them to pull hard on the shoots and were able to keep front end down, they have big lungs and will work your arms hard, but i also found them in the trees to be to much work to handle over a long day, you finnaly give up early
my 880xp ran as good as a guy can exspect, it will not outclimb a tnitro in a open area, but just add some tenhnical to the climb and see how the ligher xp handled, after the end of the day, my xp rocks
as for weight, xp880 with 3 inch 162 full of fluids is 535lbs, nitro full of fluids and similar track is 652lbs... this was last year comparsions done at the scale
so for me a 200lb guy the 880 is just perfect, once they get the 880etec figured out it could be ever better, and if the turbo work out on the etec, maybe even work the tnitro

it's a small price to pay to have a sled that does not burst into flames if it comes into contact with a pinecone:d
as "flimsy" as the xp is made out to be. it has impressed me. ive nailed some very large stuff with it and thought forsure my front end or something along the lines were toast. not the case. you really need to fawk up to bend an xp.
yep the front is a bit weak but if your hitting trees head on you need to learn to ride.
last year, buddy caught a carbide on a rock at about 10 mph. $3500 / damage due to extensive frame damage.

ive hit some heavy duties with my big hog.............jus sayn'
carbides hooking on rocks is a bad thing for most any sled, I wrote off an S-chassis that way. 270 kms on it too....sad daylast year, buddy caught a carbide on a rock at about 10 mph. $3500 / damage due to extensive frame damage.
Ohhhhh ohhhhhh I wanna say something about bent rails right now....... LOL
You had to know that was coming.........
lol...nice term..."bumped"....like the snow shifted when they were parked side by side "bumped"?Buddy #2: bumped into another sled on the clutch side. Sled flexed enough to break 3 bolts on the chaincase. Don't remember the exact coin, but it was also expensive.
LOL
