I have seen this kind of situation before. A lot has to do with clutch ramp adjustment on the bomb and proper suspension set up for the snow conditions. I have owned m8s m1000s and ridden m7s, and now have new summit etec800 and 05 mxz800x . One thing I have found is that the cats have better suspension set up for hills and really deep snow, They tend to pack better, wheelie and trench less allowing sled to push forward more up the hill. Wheelie will slow you going up hill. I found the doos need some adjustments below stiffen back end, tighten limiter strap a little and soften the shock to allow more packing action and less wheelie and trenching. Also make sure you re getting peak power rpm with ramp angle adjusters. Had buddy that couldnt keep up with any of the mountain sleds in our group cause he was only pullin lil over 7200 He is from the middle east and have a hard time understanding him sometimes lol finally got it out of him that he wasnt gettin the revs. So I adjusted his bolts from 1 to 3 or 4 and he was all smiles. still only pullin like 8000, I believe 08s are supposed to settle at 8200 wot. And because most people dont ride the 163" bomb and go with the 154 or 146 when cat guys like 162" and think 1" wider track is equivalent to a next size up 15"wide track, if you can keep the track on the snow it would be true, but shorter track means more wheelie

He has a very good point. I ride a Twisted Extreme M1000 and we have a 06 m7 162 SnoPro with Reeds, "Y" Pipe, Can and some Clutching still using the Attack 20 Track for a spare that the Wife rides.
The Father inlaw rides a 07 800 Rev with Pipe, Reeds and Clutching with a 152 Track.
The M7 will flat out eat that 800 each and every time. We have switched Sleds for comparison and the same results.
In the Deep Snow, the M7 is gone, on the hard pack they are very close but the M7 prevails and it's not the rider @ all.
Nothing against Doo here as they work good too. As I've always stated, the 700 Cat in the M Chassis was the best Sled Cat ever made, as Stock they make 140+ HP. Takes very little to squeeze extra ponies from the M7.
If you want an even better M7 - Take it out to Linderman and have hime Port and Polish it and then put on a Turbo, then you will make your point with AUTHORITY.

Why would you even think about upgrading your sled with how your M7 runs? or should I say downgrading. And where are these hills you were doing the stomping? Oh yeah. Nordegg. Maybe keep going a little further west. We call them mountains out here.

you better not get a m7 adam. just imagine. you'd probably have 2 broken legs if you had that much power!!! lol

I figure this to get to about page ten, i think it just might. AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH what i dont get is guys taking it personal and taking shots at me. I seen the reviews for the new 2013 skidoos. I real need not say any more then that.

Come on it has to hurt when a little 700 walks all over a 800 xp. That should get it to page ten. Just sitting back laughing at all this of the big shots posting on here at this point.

My little 700 the magic machine AHhaHAhaHAHAHha kicking ski doo ass all over the west country.

my old poo poo 700(wedgie) use to spank my buddies rev's in drags all the time. pissed them off.... fast little sled. but couldnt touch them on the hills....

I can't believe it. I bought a turbo 4 stroke so I could beat the 800s. All I needed was a M7. Stupid me, what was I thinking. I could have saved a bunch of money too. I should have paid more attention to the internet, and I would be king!

I have to ask and i am sure this will get this post to page 10 and maybe 20. Why all the hurt feelings over a little M7 beating a 800 xp. Theres been at least a dozen shots at me personally and another dozen just calling me names and so on. I no DOO owners are a touch bunch but holy phuk, I dont no maybe it is the big bore kit that gave me the edge ahahahahahhahaha just kidding.

BUT ONE THING IS FUR SURE even when making fun of a doo or even just putting up a post to even talk about a DOO it sure upsets them DOO owners. HAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAha LOL

This will get this to page ten. And i have to say thanks for the laughs cause i never take any thing on the internet personal not like them DOO owners any way.

HOLY ch!t this things has had over 1400 views hahahahahahahahhaha thats awsome all over a m7 taking out a 800 DOO

AND THIS IS ALL IN FUN and if i hurt your feelings in any way i am sorry and if you feel the need to belittle me or put me down and call me names have at er cause i still need this to page ten.
