are 162 race sleds really popular in Ponoka?

didn't you just list a few mods your sled had and you said it was stock? I had an m7 with slp main and y-pipe mbrp stinger can, timbersled air intake, timing key, vforce 3 reeds, clutching and it was just keeping up to the doo 800's I added the ported heads and jugs and it would go past the 800's but there is no way a stock or so you say stock M7 will ever touch a stock 800 doo sorry buddy but it wont unless that doo is running like chit!. and yes mine was a 162 as well. I still havent found a stock cat that will touch a stock doo all you gotta do is look at the track 15" wide vs 16" wide do the math it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know who gets more float. try and race your buddy up a hill were it really matters not across a field quebec style.

Im not sure what is more retarded... that fact I just wasted my lunch break talking about who has the "fastest" mountain sled..... Or the fact someone was actually wondering why a 162 with mods was beating a stock 154.

LOL nah the title is fine some people just take things to serious. I do like my 700 but i want a new sled. Like i said the stomp part was just to have some fun. I was also wondering why my 700 was faster and climbed better then a 800 xp. I guess now i no.

Not from ponoka and it was a 144 i added the 162 cause my plan was to hit the mountains. BUT i still like going fast so i guess its good on both ends.

You should look at something like a freeride 137 with a 2 1/4" track or something.. Any crossover sled. You want speed.. but still want to jam in the hills thats the way to go......

READ first post never said anything about stock m7. Said his was almost stock and that all he has is pipe and can. Only thing i have over him is adjustable secondary and reeds, to bad so many post and very few read the post.

The 162 should slow me down not speed me up. I have cross fire gears in my sled so it makes me faster, FASTER AND CLIMBS better then a 154 800 xp LOL

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA that should be enough stomping on the doo to get at least another 50 comments on my magic m7 haahhahaah

ALL JOKING aside, after reading all this i would have to figure my gearing is what makes my sled quicker then the xp 800. Thats what my friends that i sled with had figured but i didnt. Thats the only real difference in my sled from stock. Reeds and a adjustable secondary do very little but make bottom end more responsive.

Big Joey, you don't happen to have a relative with LongHair in the Edmonton area do you? He also has a super fast mountain sled and loves to tell people about it on the internet.

there could be a hundred reasons why. a properly set up '08 XP will destroy your little m7 every time. but enjoy your victory as it is rare....lol

There is something seriously fuged with your buddies XP.

ever think that maybe bottom end can be a major factor in racing? ever wonder why diesels are super nice in the low end for racing and can smoke even the most expensive muscle cars int 60 foot and 1/8 mile? it's called torque! add some torque and it does a lot more than HP does! and trust me clutching can make a world of difference it's not a minor thing. and yes i did read your first post you said your buddies had a pipe and can and yours had pipe can, boondocker box (wich is not in use),some reeds. trust me little things like reeds and clutching paired with some other items can make a world of difference! like T-team stated drags are in valemount put your money were your mouth is and go see how that m7 stacks up against some other competition.

Heres a thought, put the other plug wire back on the spark plug on your buddies XP and try again. I've put a fair amount of kms on my M7 (which is modded btw) and it'll go where any 800 will but it won't be climbing higher or getting places faster. Thats a fact.

I started this just for fun. Too many on here take things all personal.

Why would you even think about upgrading your sled with how your M7 runs? or should I say downgrading. And where are these hills you were doing the stomping? Oh yeah. Nordegg. Maybe keep going a little further west. We call them mountains out here.
