Looking to upgrade soon and not sure what to buy. The 2010 and 2011 doo's need the pistons upgraded. The 2012 Polaris pro's need the same fix kit, not sure what the problem is with Cat's latest sled but there probably is one!!
What does a guy do? Stick with my rev lol?

2010 doos needed no piston upgrade. the best sled in the powertek xp chassis by far. as it should be being its last year. 2011 etec needed pistons. but thats covered under warranty through brp and any 2011 you buy would most likely already have it done. if its not in your budget to get into a skidoo XM then pick up a 2012 summit x. best of the xp chassis sleds by far with the 2.5" track etc. again as it should be being the last year of the etec in the XP. if its in your budget 11000-12000 then deffinetly get into a gently used 2013 XM. unreal machine.

as far as the cats and poos are concerned im not really sure. polaris has had ongoing motor trouble. cats have a solid motor but they had some serious clutching issues in 2013

I have a 2011 m8 162" great sled for the year the 2012 m8 do have a issue with the clutchs but they have recalled them in because they were burning the belts of but ive had no problems with my 2011. I also had the sled dialed in by Kenny at mountain magic and that was the best nickel I had spent on the sled. My sons sled was also dialed in by Kenny and we had the pleasure of riding with some xm last year and we did not see much of a difference between the sleds but the rider makes big differance

We ride them all thought the season and truly it all comes down to dealer support. For Weir Boondocking we will all be on cats because Ghost rider Motorsport's takes great care of us, and has always been able to help get us back on the snow.

If money isn't a concern get an XM. If you wanna save $1000 to $3000 you can pick up a 14 or 13 cat, some good deals on them. One thing to remember is doo's resale is better than cat/poo, so you can get some of that back.

XM has been solid, cat had a few easily fixed clutche issues. IMO!

I'm referring to backcountry, I mean why else would the best sledder in the world be with polaris? I will say though, the doo free-rides are just as good too.
