I went in this order when I got into mountain sledding, 151, 146, 154, (few sleds) and 163 and have no desire to go backwards. AS fun as my 146 was for climbing and wheeling out of every climb, jumping and such, it just wasn't as good or forgiving in deep snow. I put my girlfriend on a 163 as well from a 154 and its just easier for her. Take a 154 and a 163 as an example and put the same rider on them back to back without allowing them to know how much track was behind them and most wouldn't be able to tell the difference until you needed that extra track as there are very little negatives to having a longer track.

I'd love to have a short track(137) for the spring time. I like 146's too, but for deep days it's not quite enough.

154 is the best overall length track IMO I've had a few 163's, they aren't too bad. A 174 is a land yacht IMO

146 and 154 are pretty close in playfulness, I think you'd like a 154 for Mountain riding.

Yeah you'll get used to it, just don't grab as much brake in the air haha

I have a 154 2.5" which is multi-purpose for me as I ride on the prairies and in the mountains. 154 has not been a problem at all for the flatland riding. The length is adequate in the mountains but next will be 165. This should allow me a little more time to plan a line in certain places.

I bought a '13 XM 146 brand new and have been to the mountains for 5 years with it now, I did stretch it to a 156x3 last season and the difference was incredible. My next one will be a 165 for sure, but I am really impressed with the 156x3 vs 146.

I've only ever ridden 144's and 146's and they seem to be fine where I ride but my next sled will be a 154. I was looking for a 154 when I came across my current 146 and the deal was too good to pass it up, otherwise I'd be riding a 154 right now.

Had a 154 back in 08 for a few years, bought my 15-146 and its been great, takes a bit of work and throttle to get there but its been fine. Just bought a 174 so we shall see how she goes, kid is going to ride the 146 12400781_1153594304651042_3904327171022133871_n.jpg
