what happens to the sleds that are insured????

Hey Guys, Ok so what happens to all the sleds that are covered under insurance and are totaled ans or wrecked? where do they go? who buys them?

some insurance companies will let you buy it back, others (like the cooperators) send it to salvage auction. at least that's what they did for mine....

Usually insurance companies will allow the owner to buy the salvage. But it is up to the company as once they pay you out the sled is their property. If the owner does not buy it back they are sold at a salvage auction.

I also wondered about this topic. So I have another question to expand the discussion. Where and when are these salvage auctions? Does anybody know the name of any of these salvage companies so we could call them for more info?
