Go try a Casper or Bloom best bed I ever bought no springs or coils and various thicknesses. Easy to pack up if you split the sheets too. Then get some decent Endy pillows, I bought these a few yrs back and are great and washable. BTW, you can use your existing box spring for the platform, unless you want to buy 1. Sold my Dad on one of these bed in a box and he got the 10 inch thick 1 and is happy.Strange question for a sled site but I figure there are likely lots of bigger guys on here with messed up backs and what not. Where do you guys buy your mattresses? Brand preference?
Ha, ha! Been there! This year I got my nephew to lift a new one up to the top deck and in through the outside door with the crane on his service truck. No way I can get it up the stairs at 68 now.A lot of work is right. 10 years ago when I was mid 40s, I shoved a king size foam top pillow mattress up my 18 stair stairwell alone. I’m not sure I attempt again. 54 this year lol
Can I asked for a link on what you found, I’m 160 lbs only, so kind of thinking a foam jobby my last two sealy posterpedics only lasted 6 years before they were bowed out and sagged.i ended up going sleep country. it came down to i just found one that the salesman was a stand up dude that didnt try to $crew me over. Its the sister to the tempur pedic. Owned by tempur pedic but doesnt have the "nasa foam" cost. It was a toss up between that one and a wicked priced kingsdown. The kingsdown was a more traditional one but felt great. if the first one doesnt work out for me i will go with the kingsdown
if you want to try a strange one jump on the extra firm tempur pedic one. initially it feels like a brick but then molds to you
I slightly dis agree on this reply, as I am 240 and have had my firm premium hybrid foam mattress for 4 years and it has been great. Still like new along with appropriate pillows, truly best sleep over a spring mattress for me. I also installed 1 in the RV and it is good as well. You really just have to sample them instore, and then just rotate them every 2 weeks. The kids have a 10k stern/foster and I don't like that bed bothers my back not sure why, must be because $$$ is hard to sleep on top of lol.If your a huskier build, I don't recommend any of the foam mattresses. They end up soft real fast. Buy firmer than you think you need, you can always make a firm mattress softer by adding a topper.
