I'm tired of fighting to straighten out parts and press out bearings, so I'm pretty excited to pick one of these up after work toady! I wish I could afford a 50ton but I think this 30 will do just fine.

But

Should be able to get a 2nd 2pole breaker in there. But make sure it is in a spot that connects to two different busses.

Probably position 2&3. Opposite the compressor (6&7).

Fill in the single poles in the left over spots. Still not suppose to double lug the breakers or splice in the panel!

As for wire size, that is dictated by current (amps) not the volts. What size welder? Post a pic of the electrical rating plate. But the feed to your garage is your week link. Too big of welder you will trip the breaker feeding the whole garage. (40?) especially if your compressor starts up while your welding.

But you should be able to run a little mig pack on a 20 or 30 amp breaker with #10 wire. But your maxed out!

my dad built his own press many years ago. Can’t live without a press.

I would never have a shop without a press saves so much time when fixing toys and vehicles pressing bearings is a breeze found when you take a old bearing out keep the outer take it and grind off enough for it to slide back in so you can use it for the next bearing to seat it proper and it won’t stick just write on it where it came off
