So the welder took a stab at the impeller today. IMG_7922.jpg IMG_7921.jpg

Not the easiest but turned out pretty good for something I was gonna toss.

Are you going to look for a new A? Another thought if you have access to a lathe, would be to get a AA and then you can always cut if it's too low RPM. and have that B for a high speed spare.

I’m going to buy a new A. Working on a bottom right now. Been talking with Jamie at highcaliber all week. Thought about going with aluminum bottom and keel strip but the price is ridiculous.

Just curious would that impeller need to be balanced after weld buildup and repair? Or are they small enough that it doesn't matter

It’s small enough that it’s not going to matter. There were too pieces the size of dimes that were replaced. Stainless may be a different story. The used stainless B I have right now weighs twice as much maybe more.

Its and interesting thread to me as someone with zero boating experience. Amazing that much torque/hp can be efficiently converted to thrust though that little impeller.

One thing I will say is working on a pump is a lot easier than working on a outboard leg.

Well I got the AA impeller on. Just waiting to test it out now. See what it does. Thinking it’s probably getting cut back to an A though. Thanks Ross.

If you're not looking for speed, its nice to run a big wheel and keep RPMs down. Might even be better on the motor and put it in peak torque range

Hey guys. So I got out on the river last night and tried out the AA impeller. Wow. Totally different boat. Wholeshot was way better and I could cruise down to 3150 and stay on step. Really impressed with it now. That’s with 4 guys in the boat. Hooked on the jet boat. It was such a nice evening on the water. IMG_0140.jpg IMG_0133.jpg
