Well I got the rig home today. Gave it a good wash and in the shop now drying and warming up. The shipper was a gong show. Was not impressed. Picked it up in jasper this morning. IMG_6872.jpg

Nice boat! If you are in the Edmonton area give me a shout if you want to run the river!

Will do sir. I forgot to mention guys. I was trying to figure out what to do with the kicker cause it was plumbed into my main fuel tank and has panther steering. Turns out it has power tilt. Comes up almost perpendicular to the boat. So I don’t have to remove it every time I hit the river. It’s gonna be sweet.

Whats it weigh ? Think you're gonna have to counter that weight on opposite side of boat in shallow at slow speeds ?

Nice looking boat. Congrats on getting a jet. I never found the kicker on the back of my boat to affect the steering or balance (side to side )of the boat. But I definitely take it off for river running. No need having all that extra weight back there if you get yourself stuck or in a situation taking off in shallow water. Just more of a nuisance on rivers

That’s why I was pretty stoked to see the full tilt on the kicker. I will run it this summer and see what happens.

Ok guys a few questions after a few runs on the boat.

Are those umhw kits plug welded?

Who should I use?

How much are we talking for a 20’ boat?

Is the pump protector a good idea?

How often are you inspecting your pumps?

Thanks
Chadd

Some places weld the uhmw on some bolt it. Bolting I think is tougher. But wouldn’t hesitate to get high caliber to put uhmw on my boat and he welds it. Welding is less work, you can leave all your interior and stuff in. As for price not sure but it’s not cheap

$4-5500 for full bottom if bolted on . Which IMO is the only way to go .
Being your boat is bigger I would just run a couple foot wide strip down the centre as that’s the area that’s going to take the abuse .
Weight is everything on a boats performance.

Slides on willows and rocks really good trust me! Sand it sticks but so does everything. Qt-100 is tougher but eventually you will get corrosion from the dissimilar metals. Not a good idea imo

I have a center strip on my sport an our race boat as well. Usually get out of the throttle, drop the bow a bit to take the hit further forward of the pump, slide and get back into it when the noise stops. never had any Teflon boats though.

So I talked with jamie at high caliber. The keel kit it sounds like is the way to go for me. I also snapped a couple pics from my weekend. Doesn’t look good. I did find another grease nipple tho so technically it’s a win I guess

you have keel dents? nothing worse than a "hook" before the pump.
