Just weighed my sled tonight with 4 digital shipping scales. Sled came out to 617 lbs with everything included below.

2014 Viper XTX
162" 2.5" camo extreme track
timbersled skid with fox shocks and resivoirs
antistab kit
extra wheels near center shock
EarthX 36D battery
Full tank of fuel
MCXpress 190 turbo
Vertical steering
38" wide a arms
powder pro skis
AC open running boards
AC accessory rear bumper
Factory mountain seat
Mountain addiction fuel/storage rack
extra belt
air pump
tool bag
Boost gauge

Ski weight was 286 and skid weight was 331 (213 lbs on center shock which seems like a lot compared to a pro at 3 lbs but with rider the center shock and rear shock carry my weight evenly)

I've been looking at the Viper and i do not like that Yamaha continues to use a radiator. The first things i would change is the cooling system design, dump the radiator for rear heat exchanger. Run the coolant through the running boards like CR's custom extreme boards.
IMO a radiator doesn't belong on a mountain sled.
I did this to my Nytro a few years back and it drastically improved the sled not just in nose weight but over all riding in the snow weight, as it had a fraction of the snow build up compared to not having a heat exchanger.

I did the same thing to my Nytro, big improvement......I don't know why yamaha has such a fixation on using rads

I'm guessing for all the folks that ride trails out east. Not enough snow probably to adequately cool a tunnel cooler. I agree no place for it on a mountain sled.
Does anyone offer a tunnel cooler for a Viper yet?

Just got back from Revvy rode three days in trees. Racewerx boards are awesome never fill up with snow an tons of traction. Skid is working great baker t-motion took sometime to get used too compared to his older skids this skid/arm reacts with very little effort when climbing an can catch you off guard when shifting too much weight side to side, works awesome in trees.. Sled/turbo is running awesome over 400 km now an running 8 lbs boost still.. 3 inch doo flex track hooks up great and works hand in hand with t-motion arm..Cpl pics from weekend

Chad at CR does, he custom built my cooler for my Nytro to my specification's. He has his generic one's that fit many different application's and has his custom made one's that fit his tunnel's.
So you have lot's of option's. I had mine made extra wide, 1" wider so it's up against the tunnel side's and 6" longer, so it cover's a much larger portion of the tunnel. His generic Nytro cooler's are much shorter and sit more in the middle of the tunnel in comparison.

I believe my cooler ran me about $400

I rode with a turbo viper this weekend. I will never buy one unless I have big money to sink into it to help lighten it up. Plan to ride with big groups to help you get unstuck in a reasonable timeline, or be prepared to spend a lot of your day digging. A single guy ski pull does **** all in most situations. We found having the sled to sled rattler helped a lot once our backs gave out. I learned that getting a 4 stroke unstuck is a skill much different then getting a 2 stoke unstuck. Different attack method and execution.

In all fairness its not my kinda of sled anyways. if I cant roll out/ dig out an average stuck in less then 10mins by myself, im wasting to much time. I get stuck a lot pushing myself riding more challenging terrain every time I go so spending the day stuck doesn't work or me.

IMO This sled should not be sold with any shorter of a track then 162 for mountains and needs better floatation skis. Great power and will be loved by those who have experience dealing with the weight.

Just curious how experienced the rider was? Was it a 162? Thanks.

I ride a turbo 4 stroke and its either you love them or hate them. I got to try a t-3 163 and it feels like a little toy it's so light n nimble, but wasn't for me..I love the torque and horse power to much to give it up. 4 strokes won't ever handle as good as 2 strokes do. There was a t-3 with boondocker turbo running 6 psi and I was not impressed by it very much, it didn't go much better then my father inlaws stock t-3. He tried my 1200 turbo and got stuck 2 times on flat ground in 1' of fresh, it was funny to watch cause soon as the boost came on he let off cause it scared him..lol. At the end of the day as long as everyone is happy and having fun it's all that matters, never be a one sled fits all. Just my 2 cents

Did you actually ride it ?? It looks heavy though right and buddy is stuck all the time?? No need to lighten it up use the throttle lol.. Big money same amount to build a decent turbo a t-3 with a good coupling skid sure the doo or pro or whatever will be 50 lbs lighter give or take a few lbs but I wanted reliability not be blowing reeds, throwing con rods I'll take the weight penalty and have for many years, rode and owned them all pretty much each to there own.. Rode waiste deep powder with 4 174 doos in the trees last 3 days pulled shovel out twice, few skis tugs, couple roll overs an couple tree wells, all in a good few days riding :d the doo 174s never got stuck lol

Guy had experience, but was new to 4 stroke. It was a 153 which is why I stated the longer track is a must. Experience will lower the number of stucks, but even the good guys get buried. IMO The power and reliability is not worth how much is sucks to get stuck with one of these things.

Even comming off a boosted t3 to a sled that is 50 lbs lighter is a big change, a bad stuck is ussally a clean out of the rear of the track and a quick roll, effort was noticeably less.. And much appreciated over the course of the day, also allows that much more radical lines and always knowing you can unstuck yourself...

I did ride it, and im sure its tameable with enough seat time and the right mods. That said I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a new sled to make it work the way I want when I already have a blast on my fairly stock xm. Everyone gets stuck, if you don't your not pushing yourself and your sled. If I don't get stuck at least 3+ times in a day, i have failed and took easy lines all day. If my friends one day decide to all go 4 stroke, im getting new friends, or a gym membership. lol

I had to learn how to get my nytro unstuck by myself, many times I was located where no stockers could help lol.....the big thing is let off the throttle before you completely stop moving and don't dig it down lol....I should add it took me a full season to learn how to use the 4-stroke to my advantage, the power is so different than a 2-smoke
