I havent played with to many turbos, and in looking at what is inside an engine tech kit i see no reason why it shouldnt work.

I like the fact that deano is not to afraid to admit that he hasn't worked with too many turbo's.

This is a new field, that is the future and the only way to learn, is by experience. We all have different experience levels with this, and the best part of a thread like this is we can all share and learn from the information we put on. Some of it may not be agreeable but were all in it for the same goal to improve the Turbo's on our snowmobiles.

there is very little difference between a 7 on boost and a 1000 on boost, you would think there would be. t1000 at 10lbs runs dead even with my t7 on 12lbs. at 13-14lbs neither can keep the sled from coming over backwards long enough to reach top end in a long pull, so it turns into a rider throttle control race, ie, who can keep the skis on the snow longest to build mph. but you are probably just giving me the gears, so it is irrelavant.

Maybe some suspension geometry should be reworked:)

m1000 garret turbo with 10lbs boost straight c12 300hp
no 700 turbo is going to keep up, m1000t runs past everytime.

turbo a engine tech motor no problem, strong billit cylinders with a cast stock like piston for reliablility perfect, more torque off the bottom end with a big bore, add low compression domes (12-1), stock pipe welded for strength, stock style reeds and catch ya later.;)

motts dyno, m1000t, garret 3071 intercooled, 10.4 lbs boost 251 hp FACT!!!
NPP dyno, m700t, garret 2871 non intercooled, 6.9 lbs boost 196 hp FACT!!!
I run a intercooled garret 3071 on my m700t, and at 12-13lbs runs with the m100t, The m1000 is 30lbs heavier due to the motor size fact, check engine weights 700cc vs. 1000c arctic cat (reported 28lbs). The m1000t at 14lbs runs away no problem, likly closer to 300 hp there. I would really like to know of a sled dyno in edmonton that can handle 300hp to make dyno runs, if you can forward that info to me I would send a bunch of business that way!

No No not giving ya gears, I asked because i wanted to know. I havent played with to many turbos, and in looking at what is inside an engine tech kit i see no reason why it shouldnt work. Thats one thing that always impressed the hell out of me was the engine tech kits are far from a seriously modded or on the edge engine. The compression isnt huge and there are domes available to lower it aswell. To be honest i wouldnt have asked this ?? if I wasnt 110% certain that there is a turbo being built SPECIFICALLY for engine tech. ;)

Are we talking about the same enigine. a 900 big bore for the m7 with efi?

That chassis would be about all the triple 4 would fit in. without of course some SERIOUS hacking and cutting.

Hey there.. NPP"s dyno should be able to take 300+.. If i'm not mistaken.. I know that ralph is building one that will take alot more than that but he is not done with it yet..

There is alot of knowledge on this thread and I was hoping on taping in on it. I am looking to put a turbo on my RX1, Any thoughts as to which one to go with? Should it be front mount or rear mount? should it be a first or second stage? And a ruff cost for a mod like this? This is the only resize picture I have at this time. It has everything else done to it already, only thing else I will do is put a light wieght hood on it.

If you want to know about turbo stuff for your rx give ken a call at the shop (780) 451-1130.. He has an rx-1 turbo'd and it's got ALL the goodies done to it... He has alot of knowledge on what the pro's and con's of the different kits are and stuff like that.. Also how boost lines are ran and stuff like that make a huge difference on them, he hjas figured out how to run them so that the slked works at it's best.. I actually think his Rx-1 might even be for sale.. It's got different tunnel on it and a pile of anadizing and all the light weight parts you can get..
